Continuation betting on the turn

Hey guys. I'm normally a tournament player. Which is to say that I suck at poker. In full table no limit ring, lets say $100 NL, what factors do you take into account when deciding whether to fire a second bullet on the turn, given that you have no reads? Responses other than "You just have to get a feel for it" are appreciated. I tend to put people on things like flush draws and then they check-raise the turn. That costs a lot of money. Is a continuation bet on the turn just not worth in lower limit NL ring?

If you are feeling lost on the turn, you probably didn't bet enough on the flop. Bet enough to force a better hand to expose their strength and to wreck drawing odds.

Oh, and you just have to get a feel for it... :)

In the Sng's I used to play a lot of times people would call flop cont. bets with anything just to see what you would on the turn. If you showed weakness on the turn, they knew they could probably push you off of a pot. Is this less of an issue in lower limit NL ring?

At NL100 some players will play back on the turn with any 2 in position, note them and check raise their ass with made hands. Otherwise I look out for a Q,K or A to rep or give up. Remember, unlike late in a tourny, a raise and c-bet is not a huge sum, let it go and reload.
