I dont usually call raises with AQ. Having said that i dont think you played too badly although i probably would have bet the turn and checked behind on the river. Checking the turn means he is far more likely to try and bluff you out of the river and i think this hand is worth showing down (just not for too much).

Bet turn/check river is standard. But check turn/call river is fine too, maybe even better since you'll get more value out of lesser hands (especially if Villain is a known bluffer).
This river bet smells like value though, so I guess you're beat by Tx/QJ.
