was playing last night on full tilt .25/.50 table I went for the 50 dollar buy in. was playing fairly well was up to about 140.00. then lost a big pot to some moron and the tilt light went on lost that 50 in and 50 more. the thing was i knew i was screwing up and should have quit but went into full tilt mode. Im a pretty good player but dammit I just blew up. Need some advice here guys has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to cure it

Players that have never tilted are playing something other than poker. The best advice I've read here is in aokrongly's Psychology of Losing thread. Read it, then read it again. And remember, you don't have to play the next hand. You aren't missing out on your opportunity to win back what you've just lost. Poker ain't goin' nowhere.

It’s something everyone has to deal with. First: learn to recognize it. Second: figure out a way to counteract it. Step away, stop playing, fold, whatever.

You HAVE to learn to deal with bad beats. Do whatever it takes, but the greatest poker players in the world who have tilt problems can break themselves.
