Flop is draw heavy. Bet about the pot size here. Should allow you to push turn. I would also probably raise more pre flop - 4-5x is my standard when they are low to open, +1 BB for limps. Also you're OOP so bigger bets are a little better IMO.

I also raise more preflop with the limpers and your position, probably to 200. I push the flop with the hearts. There's a chance he has a Q and will make TP call. He may also have a heart and will call you. As it ended up he had rockets over your kings and you're going to go broke most every time. That's just the way it is.

Would I want to push the turn with the two queens out there? If villain calles the pot sized bet on the flop, is it not likely that he holds a queen with a reasonable kicker to boot? I just don't see what he would have called a pot sized bet with that doesn't have me beat here.

Of course I do see that I'm repping a strong queen myself by pushing the turn, but I 'm thinking that even if he holds a queen with a mediocre to low kicker he's not laying it down. As I see it, the only hands that would call the pot sized bet on the flop and perhaps not call a turn push are AA, KK, JJ, 99, and maybe AK (without a read I'm not assuming he is a draw-chaser and risking nearly all my chips on it at this stage of the tournament).

Of course, in this particular situation he might have folded his AA to a turn push, but I'm thinking that in this situation I am , more often than not, up against a hand that is ahead and won't be pushed off.

Yea, I've since made my standard PFR 5BB+1BB/limper for both levels 1 and 2 (BB=10 and 20 respectively), perhaps adjusting the level 1 raise according to the position of the limpers (e.g. UTG limps, I might slam it up a couple of bets).

Wow, this post got longer than I intended, perhaps I'm thinking myself to death here. Thanks for the reply, I'm hoping for some input regarding my thinking on pushing the turn here (given a pot sized flop bet).

If he has the Q, he has the Q. With your stack size, you aren't going to fold after this flop. Maybe an Axx flop or suited and you have none of it, but not here. The turn Q sucks, don't get me wrong, but after making a properly sized flop bet you just shrug and start a new tounrey if it beat you.

You will see (ALL THE TIME) people call PS bets with (using this board as example) str8 draw, flush draw, pair plus draw, TP, middle pair. Also most players with something like AQ or KQ on that flop are not going to smooth call, they will re raise. Here with his call I would assume draw all day.

I should note that this guy played his AA VERY badly. He should have re raised pre flop after the limp, he should have re raised you on the flop. He should have pushed the turn if he was going to push the river anyway. No chance I give this guy AA here.
