Interesting strategy for big money in cash games....

this is straight out of phil gordons "little green book."
he talks about the BOW ( Biggest Online Winner.) phil says this guy he knows over bets his draws and over bets his great hands. apparently this works out very well.
overbetting your draws, you have two ways to win. u hit your draw probably at least 1/3 of the time or more. when u hit you probably have the nuts and take the pot down. this maneuver has big fold equity too. good way to pick up pots i think.
overbetting the nuts or good flop could work out well too. if the board is semi co ordinated, they wouldnt know what to put you on.
I think i might go down to the low limits and try out this strategy for awhile....
what do you guys think of this? could it win much $ ?
you'd have to use your discretion with this. if people pick up on it, u could be taking some big beats. you couldnt be scared to lose some buy ins, but i could see this strategy winning mucho $

At the low limits i dont think you have big fold equity when you bet your draws (im talking micro limits) since they will often call with anything (or nothing). This is It is probably better to use blocking bets or just check and hope they do too.
I dont think many of these players pay attention too much to how much you bet so i dont know if that LAG image would help you all that much but perhaps when you get to 25NL this would be a good strategy

just learn to play good poker. You cannot generalize that overbetting draws and made hand will ALWAYS be the best strategy. There are definately times when overbetting is better, and times when value betting or checking is better. The guy who figures out which is better to do in each different situation will make alot more than someone who overbets everything.

(however, your strategy would still probably be +ev at 25NLish stakes)

its not my strategy though. its a strategy from phil gordons book. he writes out the math with over betting draws/nuts vs tptk and sets and it shows that in the end this strategy makes lots of money.

Overbetting draws requires a solid assessment of your actual fold equity. Usually you don't do it out of position either. Obviousy you don't want to overbet a draw when your opponent has a great hand, because they'll just come over the top of you. Also, some opponents will notice you do this and start putting pressure on you with anything just because they know what you're doing. Another thing to consider is your live outs. If you have a flush draw with 67s on a As Ks Kc board, then I wouldn't go macho with it, since you may already be drawing completely dead. I'd rather have overcards with my draw.

I personally use this strategy often, but selectively at 50-100NL. This move MUST have a fold equity companion. So it's almost useless at loose tables because not only is your fold equity bad, but your implied odds are high enough not to conceal your draw, because people will pay it off anyway. It works well at mid limits and up. I would think at higher limits you'll get sniffed out if not careful or graceful about it.

Overbetting your monsters on river against an opponement you know has a hand he likes is something i HIGHLY recommend to everyone. I think its the greatest part of my game. Its not rare im going to bet like 5x the pot the river if i know my hand is very difficult to read(for example JT on 9QK board) and i am confident i will get called.
