Is there a difference in quality of play and how much at these 3 levels?
25 NL has half the table or more seeing the flop, a lot of the times they'll lose their buy in with top pair.
50 NL people still overvalue TPTK and middle two pair.
100 NL people slowplay everything.
Which site you you play at?
Nobel NL100. full of weak/tight, even the 6max. Seeing players min bet TPGK with two flushcards out...
Pacific NL100 is a mix of rocks, maniacs and calling stations, just make sure you tell them apart.
The only difference is people semi bluff harder, they will overbet draws and slowplay very often.
Everyone seems to have "fancy play symdrome"
From my experience, on stars:
25 NL: Unlike 10 NL, they are a lot tigher but they are still bad players who overvalue TPTK, not so good readers but they're ok compared to lower limits.
50 NL: they grow a little, even more tight pre flop, and they start laying down hands a little. Still not so hard to beat.
100 NL: ouch i seen huge difference from 50 NL. These guys are not scared to lay down their hand if they're beat. Tight too. Good readers.
Also the % of big fishes go down a lot at 100 NL, compared to 25 NL.
I believe it depends on what site you're playing at. My experience at Party Poker went like this...
NL25 was really easy, you could camp your butt off and get paid. This is where the beginners play. Players can't read you as well, and you get a lot of "F it" calls, where someone knows they're beat but pays you off anyway. If you get into the right game this can be a VERY profitable limit if you're playing enough tables at the same time.
NL50 -- I don't have a whole lot of experience at this level but it seemed like a huge rock garden to me. It's like the players that play there are all of the "graduates" of NL25. I tried to stay away from this level because of this, because the competition was pretty strong.
NL100 -- This level is more difficult than NL25 but I'd say easier than NL50. Many people don't have a problem sitting down at NL100 table even if they're not very good. You'll have a good mix of beginners (players that play like NL25'ers) and good players too. A very profitable level for me.
Ultimate George nailed it boys.
On party poker 25 NL is fish mixed with campers.
50NL is a total rock garden, with very very few fish.
100NL for some reason has more fish, more agressive players, and some very loose players.
Empire poker the same.
I moved from $50 to $100 recently (again!)
Finding the $100s a lot looser than the $50s, and thus far, very profitable too.
Specific sites as obviously shown have diferent numbers of players/fish/rocks etc.
If you mean to ask what is the difference in level the answer is not much. That doesnt mean if you can beat 25nl you can beat 100nl, there are some things to learn especially in 6 max. Dont play outside your br but if you can beat 25nl you will be able to beat 100nl too.
I bet it highly depends on where you play.
Last night at Bodog, the LOOSEST table I was able to find in a 2 hour period was a $1 blind table you bring 100 dollars to.
I really like how Bodog has "% players into flop" in their lobby. It can really help you find loose tables. Of course they might have just changed, just watch a few hands and see how many people are trying to see the flop.
Well, Bodog also has some really loose players. WAY looser than PartyPoker at least. I haven't tried all the sites.
Sometimes at Bodog it seems the loosest table per the lobby stats is for $6 blinds or something high like that. It varies. But of course it's easiest to just about anytime find a loose table at the lowest blinds (10 cents).

(6max) Its really funny, but at all of the levels if you play perfectly ABC poker, you'll get paid off more than fancy play syndrome-ing everything. Betting every street when you flop your sets is easy and works like magic.
50nl was the tightest of the three for me too. so if you get a tight table there, you can just run them over with a lot of bets and raises.
50NL is a good place to hone a loose aggressive style, because you step in as a paradox in most cases. You can really get into how to control action, tilt people, ETC. I think just hunting for camping grounds is profitable, but you are sacrificing your growth by never learning the things you can learn at 50NL.Quote:
