Help! $5 sng
I play the 9 player $5 sngs at pokerstars, my general strategy is to try and double up early, tighten up as the blinds raise (while still trying to steal blinds), and raising my agression once i make the top 3. I have recently had trouble doubling up early, and i was wondering how i might alter my game. Im going to post an example of some of my starting hands in a Very Loose tournament. I dont think i ever found myself in a position where i could steal blinds, because i was almost always faced with a raise. Anyway here is a list of some of the hands i have folded, and maybe you can help me out.
87s Postflop
Q2s
K9o BB Postflop
2/10o sb postflop
AJo picked up the blinds postflop
85s

A8o BB
J9o sb folded postflop
72s folded preflop

35o BB
33 sb raised 300 preflop, and pushed out post flop, (my worst hand of the turny)
K2o

Final hand- i finally decided to push with A8o, after several people limped into my BB and this is what it looked like

Im aware that i wont recieve these cards every turny, but there has to be some way for me to ajust my play to better cope with poor cards against an agressive table. Any feedback would be greatly apreciated

44 folded to preflop raise (what was the raise, you might consider calling anything up to 4x)
10/9o (you might want to try limping this hand if you are in position)
I would have waited to push until the blinds came around me one more time. I find with those "loose aggressive" tables that they peeter out pretty quickly at this point. If you caught a good hand going around one more time, chances are that you could triple up.
When you did push migh have been just as good as any though, with the limpers, you are going to get into a race.
I guess this tournament was just an example of variance. Take a break, then come back and load up another...

I folded the 44 to a 7bb raise, which directly after i folded was raised to over 100bb, which would have put me all-in.
the 10/9o was mid position, and i cant imagine seeing a flop for the blinds, thats more than i could hope for callin from the sb...
When i pushed with A8 i was behind 4 limpers, so far in the turny i dont think i had raised once, so i figured i was displaying a tight enough image to pick up the blinds little did I know he limped Aces, which i guess makes sence when people are raising with any 2 cards.
BTW i forgot to mention, when i called the 3bb all in raise, with pocket 3s, I was pushed out of the pot by 3/6O with a pair of 6s, while i was suprised that i got called pushing with A8, i was shocked to see Aces, i wouldnt have been suprised it all if I had called me with rags the way some of the people at that table were playing.
Thanks for the advice i think im gonna take a day away from poker and try my luck tomorrow.

I think you're strategy is good and you did muck so some real sh!tty hands. The thing to remember is that if the table is real loose like that that you have to stay tight and pick your spots because they are liable to call you with A/trash but at the same time, having alot of limpers is good to me because I'll slam in a raise (in position) and pick up a decent pot. On the A/8, I might have just called or even mucked the hand because you were short but weren't desperately short and with the string of hands you had, you may have been thinking that that wasas good as it gets but I've thrown away A/small and woke up with Q/Q's J/J's and put all in and double right back up. The A/8 was still good though because with the equity of the pot, you were geeting the return on the investment that you needed
