I Can't Stand NL$50!

NL$50 on Party just sukkkks. It's a rock quarry in there. I can't get paid on my big hands, and my middle hands are always beat if I get any resistance.

So I can go back to the NL$25 and NEVER bluff or make moves, because those guys don't know that they shouldn't call with bottom pair. I don't feel like I can improve my game there.

Or I can play NL$100 where I generally get "out-moved". I've won a small amount at NL$100 so far (just 2.5k hands), but have huge swings making/calling big bets. NL$100 is far more interesting/stimulating than any other game I've played, though.

Some have said that the NL$50 on Prima is fishy. Maybe that's my middle ground for now?

Any suggestions from someone who's been there (here)?

I have played a very limited number of hands at Pokerroom's 5max $50NL and it seems to really suit my style, if that helps (I am fairly loose).

I also really like the feel of pokerroom, which may be becaue it's where I first learned the game. I know others disagree.

You are absolutly right, party poker $50 NL is swingy.

Go to ultimate bet its like fishing with dynamite.

I'm having the EXACT same problems at party 50NL. Can't get paid off easily... and losing or w/ marginal hands. Is it best to just find a better game?

What time do you play? I find 50NL very different during the day than it is at evenings and weekends when there's a lot more loose money around. Otherwise if you want to avoid the rocks then 6 max is the way to go - but a lot of swings.

ap 50nl is nice and easy
50nl on prima is nasty. Too much up and down variance for my liking and i mean big swings too.

I always find the 50nl on Absolute really tight, but maybe you are talking about 6-max? Try the Interpoker 25GBP no limit tables for full ring - really fishy play.

My advice, stick to Party, it only gets harder elsewhere.

Im sorry but i find 50 NL on Party to be a complete joke, even 100 NL at Party feels like a complete joke (only at 200 NL does it get hard for me to win). Both games can be easily beaten by a straight camping game. Maybe its because I'm a more experienced player and am used to 600 NL I dunno..

Play a camping game and play many many tables at once (try 5 or 6 tables at least). Wait for the big pocket pairs the big overs pairing up and the sets and get paid off. Know when your playing against a set. Pretty basic stuff. Rarely bluff! And the biggest key is play dominating hands with position. Never play dominated hands out of position. You follow these two rules and you will begin making much more money.

Also, one big difference between 25 and 50 NL is you cant expect people to just pay off your big pairs with some small pair like you can in 25 NL, and you cant get people all in pre-flop with 22 against your bullets. It just doesnt work like that anymore. The players are better and youll have to work a little harder to win.

Perhaps you can show some hands where you lost a lot of money and I can suggest what you should do in those situations.

Both, although the 6 max is very loose at ap imo while the full ring is loose but certainly not as loose as 6 max.
Maybe i have a reputation or they all get annoyed when i raise 7 hands in a row to start with and then sit bck and wait for them to pay my hands off.
