What's a "normal" downswing for .50/1?

Hey guys,been on a bit of a rollercoaster the past couple weeks at .50/1.Yesterday I was up 23BB but tonight I ended up losing that and being down 27BB(some suckouts,some outdraws,perhaps one or two bad calls).My table selection was ok for the most part as a majority of the players were loose/passive or loose/semi-aggressive.The hands I made I did get paid off on,but the hands I lost obviously hurt.Luckily my bankroll management combined with bonus chasing helps offset that a bit.

Anyone know what the accepted downswing is for .50/1?I know my game needs more work but I want to see at what point is a downswing a serious issue.Thanks guys.

GOOD GOD HUGE!

I have been trying to play a lot of hands 4 tabling .5/1 NL lately. OMFG, today was the worst day ever. i felt like i was swimming upstream. I was even winning some big pots, but I just felt like I could never stop leaking money. I guess i will stop multitabling like that for a while until i get some confidence back. I don't know what the deal is........... I was handling it, and I think playing fine the entire time. Then, i got kk vs aa twice and two set over sets, in that order, losing me 4 whole more buy-ins. Up until that point, it was bad, i was questioning myself, but not so bad. Those 4 buy-ins went in like an hour.... this is the most horrible game ever. I can handle that I guess, but I mean WTF WTF!!!!! WTF! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

25BB up or down isn't exactly huge. Focus more on your play and less about how much you are winning or losing.

I just realized, you might be talking about limit. 23BB isn't a big swing for limit either. Swings don't even start in limit or no limit until your bb's lost are in the hundreds. even in limit, you can lose 23BB in a couple hands easily.

100 BB is common. I lost 25 BB last night playing 1 table. No big deal, it happens.

I'm playing exclusively NL single table SNG and doing pretty well at the moment. Hadly any swings because you're stake (but obviously winnings) are limited, but I wouldn't dream of trying ring games until I'm making a constant killing on the tournaments.

Im not sure that is true.

For me ring games are higher variance than tourneys.

I think that for a player who is equally adept at both ring and SNGs (say the 90th best player in the world for both), SNGs have a lower variance. Howeer, I cannot prove this myself, and I hope that someone will come by and give some evidence.

hmm, maybe you are right about the SNG thing...The reason I said that is because I've heard about a lot of winning SNG players going on X-teen out of the money streaks, and it seems like not as many winning ring players drop that many buyins (I know it's possible, I just assumed it was less common).
