Multitabling

Hi this is my first post here! First a thanks to Rippy Rada and DavSimon for various tips that have given me a first and second place finish on pacific $30 multitable tourneys this week. Ya'll helped fund my diving trip to new zealand--thanks a zillion. :D
Now for my question: I usually play 1 large tourney and do sit n gos on the side to keep from being too bored early. But I have trouble doing well on these side games with my focus on the bigger tourney. My trouble is that both tables don't fitt on the screen at once, so I have to flip between them. Do ya'll have dual monitor setups or do you actually do well flipping between screens? Do you change screen resolution to make them all fit? Or what? On expekt there is a small table version...but expekt isn't in Gibraltar (i don't have to tax on winnings from gibraltar).

most people who do hardcore multitabling have monitors which can fit four tables wihtout overlapping. This requires a monitor with at least 1600x1200 resolution (poker sites have windows that are 800x600).

bubble play requires agression. agression makes money.

Thanks for the multitable tip. The quote on bubbleplay isn't mine. I definitely crank up the heat around the bubble. I just found it kind of funny that the people playing on pacific advocate the extreme opposite of what the people here recommend--I guess that's why I play on that site.

Ultimate Bet also has a mini-view option where you can fit 3 tables onto a 800x600 screen with no overlap.

Expekt is a Prima skin, so I would expect (no pun intended) miniview is available on the other Prima sites as well (there are like 20+ of them: see www.primapoker.com)

I multi up to 3 STT's at once flipping between screens but no more than 2 if I start them at the same time. Starting to itch for that 1600x1200 monitor....

Get the Samsung 21.3 inch. Great for 4 tables at any online casino.

1600x1200 is a must for multitabling. I like UB, but I don't like the miniview. Too confusing for me. With the miniview you could easily 4 table without overlap at a lower res.

and for the record, I only play 1 SNG at a time. I watch all the players closely and begin to see how everyone plays. This is VERY useful if you end up heads up with someone. Knowing that someone is very tight, I've often stolen their blinds to a first place finish. With more than 1 tournement at a time you lose focus and now it's more about playing your cards than watching the other players.

At the lower levels, it is about playing your cards. Hell theres someone who 12 tables the step fives. If you want to maximize ur hourly rate and how much u make, you multitable. If you want to be a good poker player.... thats a different story.

After a while you get used to it and you don't need more than a few 'was barely watching' hands to figure who the much too tight people are (and it shouldn't change your game much, you NEED to steal blinds anyway). People change their styles a lot playing heads up. It's also somewhat useful to know who can't lay down ace-high, there always seems to be one.
