Another loser for me, but I really like this hand.

3 minutes before the end of the first re-buy hour. I played my first hand 3 hands ago with AK and stole teh blinds for my first win of the hour.

Blinds are now 75/150. Classic aggressive Paradise table for first hour of re-buy (people play tons of hands and go all-in with nuttin).

2 folds and Mr. Super Loose Aggressive with just under 4,000 chips limps for 150. Tight for this Table with 2275 chips also limps. Two more folds, and it comes to me (Super Super tight - I honestly had only raised in the one prior hand with AK) in CO with only 1065 chips :6c: :9c:.

I pushed - thinking I would either steal or get heads up with one other player and would probably have a 40% shot of doubling up here. Not upset about my push.

Button and SB fold - Chip Leader with over 8,000 chips in BB calls. Super Loose Aggressive calls. Tight for this Table raises all-in. Ruh-roh I'm thinking. But for only another 1,000 both BB and Super LAGG call.

BB (over 8,000 chips to start) has :td: :kc:
Super LAGG ((under 4,000) has :jc: :kh:
Tight for this Table (2275) has :ad: :as:

To me this is exactly why you DON'T limp with AA. Yes he had a shot to quadruple up, but he also had a better than 1 in 3 shot to bust out now.

Flop was lovely for me: :4c: :5c: :7s: I now have pot odds to quadruple up - AA is a little less than a coin toss now.

Turn a not so bad :9h: making it 55/45 in favor of the AA and the other two are drawing dead.

River a :7h: and down I go. But god I really like how this hand played out.

I dont like it at all.

To me this is why you limp AA, he got all your and their chips. Plus there isnt too many hands that you have 40% equity against.

And if half the deck in my favor had hit, would you (or he) still be so happy about limping?

In a cash game - limping there might be ok if you are willing to take the bad beat. In a tourney - I don't like it one bit. Then again, I rarely limp unless I'm UTG or UTG+1 - so I get reraised quite a bit even when I have AA and then am going heads up. Why do you want to be in a hand with more than 1 or 2 others with a hand like AA?? Just asking for them to be cracked.

Also let's say for fun that BB had :td: :qd: instead of the Ks canceling each other out. Now the AA is down to losing 45% of the time. Although the reward is great, the risk of losing is basically a coin flip now. And most people don't like coin flips unless desperate in a tourney.

You forgot the "or still in the rebuy part of an R&A tourny". Although people tend to get less crazy when the rebuy period is almost over, you'll still find one of the limpers will often call you.

That... and you should have more chips in that from doing an initial rebuy. :) :)

The rebuy period had 3 minutes to go. I think we all now know that I am an island with the no rebuy theory (I'm giving it another 2-3 months before I reach my own conclusion). I also know that can't be completely taken out of the equation. However... still don't like the AA limp there. Unless of course you're willing to grab your ankles and either :lol: or :shock:

If you cant fold AA then you shouldnt limp it. I can and I do.

Yeah - I can and do fold AA as well. And yeah, a lot depends on the table. In this case, I'll relent a bit. It was still the rebuy hour (although barely), and the table had been clasically aggressive so waiting limping from Early/middle position wasn't horrible. But I wouldn't have liked 3 others against my AA there.

You misunderstood what I meant. When I mentioned the rebuy period, I was more commenting on your play. I think pushing 96s is crazy during the rebuy (if you're not willing to rebuy), because the chances of somebody calling you and beating you is pretty decent. After the rebuy period the move isn't quite as insane. I'm not talking about the AA limping here at all.

If the table was as aggressive as you say... I'd probably be limping AA too in an R&A. It's ideal to have a huge stack after the rebuy period... if you're fairly sure you'll get a raise behind you, I think the limp is a great move.

Couple of things:

1) This really does come down to theory again - yes it woulda been better to play this hand like this after the rebuy... but since I don't re-buy or add-on a lot of my success comes from being able to double up within the first thirty minutes of the rebuy and then start making my move in the second hour (it does work for me). Since it just wasn't gonna happen last night, I said this is as good of a time as any to push since everyone else was about to be adding 2500 more chips making me even more shortstacked (although play was agressive, most raises were with a hand and few were limping with monsters, so I wasn't that concerned about a hand higher than TT). Like I said I'm not upset about the loss, and I have relented a bit on the limp with AA (still not my style tho).

2) I really like this hand does not = woo hoo pushing with 69 suited was such a stellar move. I really like this hand simply = this was a purty interesting hand. Shows advantages/disadvantages of limping with AA - shows why you don't ever just call an all-in (BB played this hand poorly and Super LAGG even worse) - and it gives me insight on three other opponents who I hopefully will face of again soon.
