Annie Duke Releases Statement on UB Cheating
Poker pro Annie Duke, mentioned in the audiotapes regarding the Ultimate Bet superuser scandal, released a 1,200 word statement where she denies any involvement in cheating.
Following a similar statement last week from Phil Hellmuth, one of the site’s owners, Duke refuted assertions made by primary UB cheater Russ Hamilton about her use and knowledge of the software tool so-called “God Mode”.
She did not address her own long-term involvement with Ultimate Bet in various roles. Having worn several hats in the company over more than a decade as a spokesperson, in management and in software design, she and Hellmuth parted ways with Ultimate Bet just months before Black Friday.

Internet Poker Bill from Indian Tribes is in California Legislature
Having for years opposed any motions to pass a bill to regulate online poker, California tribal elders, coming to a realization of the economic opportunities that a regulated online gambling market in the world’s sixth largest economy may bring, have crafted and filed such legislation.
The draft bill allows online poker only and would not permit any other type of online wagering. Licenses to operate poker sites under the bill would only be restricted to the current land-based casinos in the state that have been owned by tribes for more than five years. It also contains a “bad actor” clause, prohibiting licenses to anybody who offered online wagering before the passage of the law.
The introduction of this bill was a prompt reaction by the tribal nations in the state to the potential threat to their interests from across the border, in Nevada, where the newly launched UltimatePoker.com may end up diluting the tribal casinos’ customer base.
