Default Study: 20% of College Students Play Online Poker

A recent study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania shows that roughly 20% of college students play online poker at least once per month. The data shows that poker is still a popular activity for a younger generation.

The 20% number grabs some attention due to the fact that Pennsylvania has yet to regulate online poker, so players in that state (who don't physically travel to New Jersey to geolocate) are playing on U.S. friendly sites such as Americas Cardroom.

That is interesting, good to see some stats to get an idea how many students are playing poker. And no surprise the students are trying to get some extra income, but also cool to see they are finding it gives them transferable skills for their degree.
