Stars new year promo

Had an email today announcing a star code to use to get a new year bonus of VPPs ( no corresponding fpps though) . entered the star code and got 625 vpps.check your emails to see if you got one too.

15 for Bronze
25 for Chrome
125 for Silver
625 for Gold
1000 for Plat +

haven't seen this advertised in emails etc but it started yesterday and complete 10 of the challenges each day to win a ticket to a 100k freeroll.
Theres also a bonus challenge as well.

I mean... 15k flippaments after they've had 250k ones in Nov and December. That's pretty lame.
And the VPP promo, that's fine if you're gold+, otherwise it equals 0

You really are ungrateful aren't you. You don't have to generate any income for stars with some of the challenges (deposits will have a processing cost to stars) and you still then get a chance to win money. 30+ daily flippaments for smaller sums mean that more peoplle stand a chance of actually winning something from them. These promos are pretty much a giveaway. whereas the nov/dec promos were driven to encourage people to generate more rake.The vpp promo is essentially a thank you for giving them rake in the past. If you played more and got higher vip the bigger the thank you.In terms of value, the vpp promo is pretty limited and main net cost to stars is people who may have been borderline on clearing a bonus or getting to next VIP level

May I ask, what is your take on "Chrome star". I've heard people saying that it's exactly bronze star, with no extra benefits, and just you're showing 2 stars instead of 1.

chromestar gives access to the 100k privilege freerolls and the weekly 5k$ freeroll.

I don't really understand the vpp promo,
it looks like it is just saying you can keep your usual level by playing a little less in january whilst recovering from the holidays.

I'll do a couple of the challenges that I wouldn't normally, some days it will be a bonus for something I would have done anyway.
but I won't be able to do the tablet/smartphone ones because santa still hasn't brought me one.

Do you have to do 10 of them in a day? Or is it just participate in any 10 days over the course of the month?

I looked in the lobby of one of the Allin-Shootout $15k freerolls & it looks like 3/4 of the field gets paid something. (ie. today's had 21,241 entrants & 16,384 got paid). Payout structure is real flat too. (only top 15 spots get something decent, $1k, 2nd-to-4th $454 & 5th-to-16th $152. After that it drops to $15).
Looks like it's setup to get people to login to Stars & get them playing. The challenges look very minimal.

I just noticed I placed 1,749th in today's Freeroll. Wow... I do far better while sitting out & just going allin every hand. Needs to try doing this more often!

theres a specific challenge for each day of the month so any 10 in the month to qualify for the final flippament and the bonus one needs qualifying for. And yep ....looks totally targetted at getting playmoney and freerollers starting to play real money games. which is good for us as the fish will be out this month and the money will seep up the food chain.
