    Default Poker Books

I've been reading a lot at night lately. My Amazon wish list has grown and I'm probably going to purchase a few (five?) books in the near future. Anyone have any thoughts on these books? (FWIW, I play mostly SHNL but wouldn't mind reading other stuff too)

    1) Tournament Poker and The Art of War -- David Apostolico
    2) Kill Phil -- Blair Rodman and Lee Nelson
    3) Caro's Book of Poker Tells (already have Hellmuth's Poker Tells book btw, Helmuth's was an interesting read)
    4) Phil Gordon's Little Green Book
    5) Phil Gordon's Little Blue Book (what's the difference between the two Gordon books?)
    6) Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker -- King Yao (may be over my head but I can try)
    7) One of a Kind: Stuey Ungar -- Nolan Dalla (heard this was a great read)

Any and all thoughts on these books would be appreciated. If you don't see the book listed I probably have it and/or have read it.

Read King Yao's book. Good if you are playing limit or just want a real solid understanding of math involved in poker.

Caro is a must read cause man is very good at explaining not only subtleties of various tells but also psychological reasons behind their play. IMO just about everything that has Mike Caro sign on it is a must read - he IS a (mad) genius. And if you're more like watching videos than: http://www.poker1.com/absoluteig/mcu...?categoryid=13

Huh? Given what I know about you I had to check the date of this post, really. 'Little Green Book' is very good book (no doubts) for n00bs trying to get their feet wet at NL and grasp basics. And that's it - n00b primer. I'm sure that have someone asked you to write a book of your own, it would have been considered 'advanced course' compared to LGB.

Didn't read it, but after reading lots of posts on various forums about LBB it looks like this:
    70% - dissapointed
    30% - meh
general consensus is that Gordon seized the popularity of his first book to grind some extra cash while offering nothing special.

    Gordon's books suck.

Get Super System (I or II since the no-limit is the same). After that get Theory of Poker. That's all you need.

ive flicked through Caros in a library and it looks poor. basically just shows poor quality photos of tells, how can you learn from photos.

Phils Blue Book is average, very average. i wouldnt buy it (got as a gift). you wont learn anything from it.

Ive a load of books and the only ones worth it are T&P and TOP (which needs rereading coz it was over my head first few times)
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

I like Caro's book. The photos are cheesy but as someone who's played tons of hands online and very few live I found it really helpful. I've picked up some tells on guys in my home game as a direct result of reading it.
