Default New York Online Poker Bill S 5302 Introduced

    Source: OnlinePokerReport

Senator John J. Bonacic of New York has once again introduced an online poker bill that would legalize the game for online play in the state.

S 5302 is similar in nature to the bill State Senator Bonacic introduced last year, except that it contains no "Bad Actor" clause that would prevent sites (like PokerStars) that operated in the U.S. after a certain date from entering, according to OnlinePokerReport. If approved, the bill would cap online poker operators in the state at 10 and tax operators at a rate of 15% Gross Generated Revenue (GGR).

OnlinePokerReport editor Chris Grove believes that the bill does not necessarily carve a clear path for legalization of online poker in New York. He quotes the head of the Assembly Committee on Racing and Wagering, Gary Pretlow, who said, "Online poker will not happen within the year, but there will probably be hearings.”

So little, so late. So hoping pokerstars gets approved for U. S. players within the next two years.
It takes 2 years to learn to talk, but a lifetime to learn when to shut up.

I wonder which big state will be next.

If I had to bet right now then it would be on PA. Hopefully CA and NY come through soon as well.
