    Default LOCK POKER

Anyone ever tried this room? I signed up for an account. I didn't deposit real money yet. Right now I am playing the freerolls to hopefully start a roll without depositing since my roll is stuck on stars. If anyone has deposited here and cashed out please let me know.

    Thanks

I think they are the same as Carbon. I play there, but have not deposited yet. I know that they are offering 35% rakeback right now.

Just deposited on Lock Poker. I'm looking to get a free iPad from an affiliate.

Lock Poker features 35% rakeback, an awesome 'Battle of Ronin' promotion (which is basically a rake race), and an extra 1% in rakeback from VIP Points. The free iPad is just a kicker that doesn't even hit you MGR.

Depositing is pretty easy. You can even use an American Visa debit card.

I haven't withdrawn yet so I'll update this post when I do.

The affiliate is TheNuts. I signed up through them. If you wanna show me some love, add to my rep or use this link to signup. I get some commission for this so no sneakiness here. Also, I'll be willing to answer any additional questions regarding deposits/withdrawals/etc.

I'll be helping players who sign up through my referral link deposit onto Lock Poker. This offer only stands for players depositing through my link.

    PM me for more information.

I signed up with lock on Saturday, tried to deposit and the card was rejected. I was really impressed with their CS because I received this from them and without initiating any contact or questions:

Tried to deposit, refused. CapitalOne called all worried.
"Did you recently attempt to make an online transaction for $111?"
    "Yes"
"Did you know the money is going outside the country!?!?"
    "Yes."
".......Okay, I'll go ahead and approve it for the next time you make a transaction."

Deposit success. Josh9477 if anyone wants to say hi. Boog, I hope you get some monies for it.

Does today's anouncement by Merge signal the continuation of the Black Friday nightmare?

    On a different note:
How many tables running at one time will Lock support?
I was only running 3 last night while I was getting used to the software; fml: timed out pre w/QQ, and a miss-click to call a lg 3bet. Even with the time spent getting oriented I was surprised at how soft the games were. Playing about 21/18 I was up 17bb/100 over an lol sample.(<500 hands)

Holy F$ck! While playing on LOCK last night I noticed the chat bubbles for the first time.
Some dude shoved on the turn when the flush completed and I folded TPGK. After I folded he typed in "coward" so I typed in "". A chat bubble appeared and some little smiley face dude shot a rasberry at the villain. I laughed for a half hour. That's gonna be great to put someone on tilt.

Normally I don't chat but I liked the results a few hands later. I'll need to make sure that it doesn't affect me the same way.

    @ Rizen:

You may not be able to answer but:

How secure can American players be, in light of today's indictments of the Yatahey network, that we will be able to continue to play on the Merge network?

Right now it's business as usual for us. I obviously cannot pretend to know what the future holds in terms of what the government is going to do, and I feel it would just be insulting everyone's intelligence if I tried.

That's really about as much information as I can give right now, obviously if anything changes I will let everyone know ASAP.

As far as I know you are only allowed to have one RB account on the network.

so sign up for as many reputable skins as you can as long as its before june 1st....RPM/Carbon/BlackChip/Poker Nordica/ Lock are all worth creating accounts on in my opinion

I can confirm the states thing, I'm not 100% sure on the France issue. Also, this only impacts new players, not existing ones, at least for the states issue.

No, you are not allowed multiple RB accounts. If you have an account that has been inactive on a skin for 90 days you may sign up with RB on another skin.

Default my email exchange with lock so far...

I am considering depositing to your site. I have two BIG questions first.

    1. How is your deposit/withdrawl system different from the (former) big three; pokerstars, fulltilt, and UB? In other words, how do I as an american player know that the same thing won't happen to you (and my bankroll) that happened to the big three (and recently Doyle's Room as well as several others)? I don't want some lame explanation about the UIGA not applying to poker, we all know that...apparently that don't matter to the DOJ. Tell me the actual difference between how YOU process deposits/withdrawls and how the big three did it.

    2. Are you willing to accept checks for deposit and withdrawls, not merely e-check, but actual paper checks. I am willing to deposit/withdraw this way if you are. It seems the most safe, though time-consuming.
    =

I am a long time, full-time player and need a site to play on. Convince me please, that I can do so at your site.

    Many thanks,
    xxxxxxx xxxxxx

    -------
    Hi, xxxxxxx

We can not guaranteed anything I'm afraid, but have put the appropriate steps in place to ensure we stay online for our players.

Check is an available withdrawal method but not for deposits. The deposit options we have are Visa/Mastercard, Click2Pay and Western Union/Moneygram.

    All our best,

    Elle

    ---
    CSR, Lock Support

    ---
    Elle,

Thanks for answering question #2 at least. How about at least giving question #1 an honest answer...and "we can not guarantee anything..." doesn't answer my question, which I will reiterate:
Tell me the actual difference between how YOU process deposits/withdrawls and how the big three did it.
If there is no actual difference, that's fine, tell me that. And then I can make an informed decision based upon that. What do you mean by having put "the appropriate steps in place to ensure we stay online for our players"? That strikes me as purposefully vague (essentially meaningless) and believe me I've had about enough of that from full tilt as I wait for my money, and wait....

If you are liable to have the same indictments as full tilt, stars, and UB, because you all process transactions in basically similar ways, as a potential customer I have every right to ask about that, and receive an honest and complete answer.

I won't deposit with you most likely, in that case, but I will certainly respect your company for your honesty, and would strongly consider playing there in a more poker-friendly future environment.

    Many thanks,

    xxxxxxx xxxxx

    --
so...I'll guess we'll wait and see. I have a feeling there is no real difference and a lock poker shutdown is an eventual inevitability. I hope I'm wrong, but I sure won't be putting any money there in the meantime. Unless I get REAL answers that address the actual issues involved. No more shadowy, vague near-assurances about "steps put on place" --blah on that. I wasn't asking for guarantees, merely to be intelligently informed of the differences (if any) between Lock and the BIG (indicted) THREE. That's what none of these sites have come forth with on their own, and what every American player should be asking them.

Is there a way to save a table layout on Lock? I'm looking to try to get an ahk script set up.

idk but to be honest, the more i play there the more i like Locks software, it shits on absolutes, and is easily on par with FTP

really? I was debating suicide / rage quiting while 4 tabling sngs yesterday Like worse than old ongame software bad. I dont see how its anywhere near par with ftp and their are so many ridiculous features (x2 is raise 3x, allin button is pretty sensative and easy to misclick, hud fits nowhere, like 10 popups per sng, lag, really small display of pot size and bets (have fun jamming in "unopened pots" with a surprise ep raiser
  56. #56
only thing you said that i agree with is accidently clicking all in...i think all poker sites should make it so you have to double click to confirm an action...makes way more sense.

my hud fits fine...i am not blind so i can easily see the pot size...i like the random 1/2 psb 2/3 3/4 btns ...idk im a fan

I don't want some lame explanation about the UIGA not applying to poker, we all know that...apparently that don't matter to the DOJ. Tell me the actual difference between how YOU process deposits/withdrawls and how the big three did it.

    Many thanks,

    xxxxxxx xxxxx

so...I'll guess we'll wait and see.
I really was 'away' in Vegas. I teach for WPT Boot Camp (you can check their site, there was a camp this weekend). I wasn't avoiding questions, but i didn't want to type out a half answer really quickly before I left.

I obviously cannot go into specific details on exactly how deposits/withdrawals are handled, and if you're looking for me to make some sort of guarantee that the DoJ won't go after Merge/Lock I can't make it, and even if i did anyone that believed I knew what the DoJ was going to do would be foolish.

I have no idea what the DoJ will or won't do, what I can do is outline some of the differences between how we do and have done business and what got the other sites into trouble. In regards to the big 3, if you read the indictments (I know it's not exactly exciting reading) most of the charges come around their eCheck solutions and the methods they used to put money directly from your poker account into your bank account (the bank fraud charges etc) instead of using third party eWallets or other intermediaries. Lock and Merge have never offered eCheck solutions.

If you look at the indictments for Doyle's Room (again, exciting reading) they were using a check payment processor located in Maryland that was set up specifically to catch online gambling sites trying to process payments in the US. I've been playing on Lock for over two years now and every time I've gotten a check the payment processor was from a bank in Canada and was usually a cashier's check with a name and number for you bank to call if they had any questions.

So, that answers what we do differently than the indicted sites. Now, that doesn't guarantee that the DoJ won't do the same thing to us, I have no idea what they will or won't do. I know we've taken some precautions (moving over to a .eu domain among others I can't really talk about).

That is as much detail as I can go into. If you have any additional questions I will do my best to answer them.

Lock Poker is part of the Merge Network. So if you play at Lock Poker you are playing against the other players on all the Merge Network rooms such as Carbon Poker, Player's Only, RPM, etc.. I don't know much about Lock Poker itself. You are probably better off sticking with Carbon Poker. It is on the Merge Network too. Carbon is considered the flagship poker room of the Merge Network and has the most players and is considered the most reliable. Carbon Poker like Lock Poker does accept U.S. players.

Okay. Well done. I must I say I'm pleased with this answer. I always thought checks were the way to go. And why use American banks at all...rather stupid of Doyle's Room IMO. When I get my fulltilt bankroll back (if I get my bankroll back) I will definitely deposit on Lock. Perhaps sooner, but this poker lull has drained me pretty dry, so maybe not. What would you consider the best way (since lock doesn't accept checks for deposit) to deposit? I don't like e-wallets (after my experience with neteller and epassporte) and it seems to me western union may represent a pretty trackable method, possibly considered money laundering itself. Money Order? I should only have to deposit once, (bankroll management, baby) so withdrawing is really more of an issue, but I am happy to wait for a check.

    Thanks again for your response...

ps...I will praise Phil Ivey on every thread I post from now on! You should too! He's done what I've been waiting for ANY pro to do--boycotted the wsop, and sued tiltware!

Joined this site before they moved to the Merge Network because they had a download version for the Mac computer. It took them a while to get their Mac Version working on Merge but they transferred my funds over without any problems (had to make a new deposit before making a withdrawal, but this was no problem when using Moneybookers). The rakeback is a nice addition, so I am quite pleased with the site.

Looks like Merge shut down to US peeps for a bit to deal with its CS and Cashout backlogs? Hopefully, it's nothing more than that.

Big thanks to Rizen for posting on FTR and not that just that other forum . I expect nothing less from a man who knows about Olathe, KS and Persimmon Hill.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the change over to the VPP system.

This update that's on there "US players to be blocked starting Friday June 3rd", does it fall in line with the rest of the article in that only new US accounts are blocked, not all of them?

yea, hence the "for those looking to sneak in before the deadline" part...i doubt they are saying "IF YOU WANT 24 HOURS OF POKER BEFORE IT ALL GOES TO HELL GO HERE"

    Default 2.20 freeroll ticket??!!

Anyone know what you can use you $2.20 sat. ticket (won by placing in a freeroll) for...I can neither find the tickets listed anywhere in my client browser, nor does the drop down menu for sit and goes or MTTs give them as an option to use...

I'm pretty frustrated as it seems like I've been playing these freerolls for no damn reason whatsoever. And they suck like bingo...

    support is slow or unresponsive.

    Help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Lock's webite to me is brutal, they seem to have a new vip tier promo and I cant find an expalnation on it anywhere on their site. Nor the vault, how the hell does this work, and how did I get money in there,,,,or maybe its a replacement for the points exchange

^^ That's not good. I was sitting on a 25nl table with one of the reg vip's that was bitching that his last cashout request has taken over a month.

I was hoping it was an isolated incident until I read your post. Have you e-mailed Lock CS?
