    Default Inactive admin charges

    Just got this from PartyPoker:

As you’ve not used your account recently*, we wanted to remind you that after six months of inactivity we charge an administration fee of 5 Euros each month. The first charge will be deducted in 15 days.
Make sure you aren’t charged: just buy in with as little as 50 cents and play one raked hand at our limit micro-limit tables.

Do other sites do this? I'm assuming with a $0 balance theres no concern, but wtf. This makes me less likely to go back, not more. If I did have any cash left on there I'd be logging in to withdraw it, not to play with it.
Just dipping my toes back in.

party also subtract your party points at some rate (10% per week?) after some period (6 weeks?) of inactivity

That seems pretty wack to me. So basically you either have to cancel the account or deposit more money?

    Dear ,
Thank you for contacting Customer Service.

The mail you received from us is regarding an Inactivity fee that can be charged from the money still left in your PartyAccount after you stopped playing.

According to our Terms and Conditions you need to access your account at least once every 180 days and either play a raked hand, pay an entry for a tournament or place a wager in order to be considered active. For more information about our Terms and Conditions and the way our Inactivity Fees are charged, please visit the link below:

    https://secure.partyaccount.com/abou...Abandonment_of

    https://secure.partyaccount.com/abou...&brandID=PARTY

Right now you have 0.00 USD in your Available Balance, so you will not be charged anything from it. Also, once a player decides to start playing again, he/she can contact us right away and we will return any fees back to the balance, so nobody will not lose any money for inactivity.

I hope I have managed to clarify things for you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site.

    Best Regards,

    Atanas,
    Customer Service.

Seems like a way to annoy customers by forcing them to logon.

using the word "wack" will only cause a loss of credibility. It certainly won't get you in with the cool kids around here.

Party has been doing this for a long time. Just play your raked hand or withdraw everything.

FWIW, I complained to Party Poker when this happened and they paid me back. Kuddos to them for reimbursing the money. No kuddos for charging this in the first place though.

I am in the same dispute with Titan Poker right now (and they do not even bother sending you emails, they just do it the sneaky way until your account is empty). I will report the outcome here. Not sure about the other ipoker rooms, but beware...

Like these guys do not make enough money out of rake, exchange rates and deposit interest... shame on them.

Did not know that Titan did it too

Is there a list somewhere on the net with sites that does this? I've only knew about Party Poker and Empire.

It's always included in the fine print of their terms and conditions... which of course hardly anyone ever bothers to read until the end...

Total rip off... plus ipoker is also ripping people off on rounding the exchange rates in their favor... fuck'em imo

He is playing some 10NLs on Stars for fun and just trying to grind up without stress. He's got two kids, a mortgage and a job so it's far from important for him to play these days

To get back on topic, I sure would like to see sites like flopturnriver (supposedly by poker players for poker players) clearly mention such practices in their page about the poker room in question. Also stuff like the exchange rate "rounding" of ipoker should be made very clear.

There are far too many swindles in the poker world...

pokertime on microgaming remove account balances for inactivity and pretty sure that 888 network do as well both with no email notice to the player.

I did get an email off William hill in the past saying that if i didn't play a raked hand by a certain date (I think it was about a month) then the balance would reduce by 10% per month as an admin fee.

It's hard to keep up with everything like this, and rules change based on feedback/what other sites are doing etc. If you would like to help other players out, leave a review with the information on the review page of the site. You could also post in the official thread for the poker room and we can ask reps to reply

I am looking at whether by law they should not have at least sent me regular bills for the charges... shame that such practices still exist even in countries were online poker is supposedly regulated.

    Fuck you, Titan Poker.
