Hand Replayers (in HEM + PT3)

Currently I use HEM.

One thing that really annoys me about HEM is if you choose a hand and look at it in the replayer, you don't see the stats that you would have seen during that hand. Instead, you see all hands on that villain up to the current month.

This is frustrating because if you're playing with players you've never played with before (which happens often in micros), then the way you play against them can change drastically if you have 20 hands on them vs if you have 100 hands on them. So, when you go back to assess your play by looking at hands in the replayer, you may think you misplayed a hand when in reality you didn't have the reads during the hand that the replayer is giving you.


On the other hand, PT3's hand replayer gives stats on villain up to the point that the hand happened. Thus, you see it in the replayer exactly as you saw it live during the hand. I only have the small stakes version of HEM so I'm thinking of moving over to PT3 soon.

I'm wondering what other peoples experience is with hand replayers in both PT3 and HEM. Also, are PT3's filters as sophisticated as HEM? The filter issue would prob be the only thing that would stop me from switching over.

I just switched because HEM and my PC stopped getting along.

I never use filters much so I can't help there. My biggest complaint about PT3 is donkament related - when you switch tables it doesn't reset your stats so they end up kinda meaningless in the context of current table.

The replayer is very awkward to me - there are stop/play/pause/FF/REW buttons similar to HEM, but every time I hit one it does something I don't expect. It's fine for pre, flop, turn, or river before any betting takes place, but if you want to be somewhere in between those spots it's an adventure. I've only been using a couple weeks so maybe I'll figure it out.

yea the tourny thing would be annoying. I don't plan on playing too many of them so thats not a big deal for me.

So in PT3's replayer are there buttons for advancing/going back one action at a time instead of playing the hand like a movie?

kfaess I to use HEM and have the same problem. For some reason though while I was reading this (I'm on my work computer so I don't have hem available) but it seems to me there are options to click in the lower right hand corner. Do these effect the issue? I'll check myself later when I get the lap top out.

harley, not sure what you mean. What are you clicking on in the lower right?

This would be awesome. I did not realise PT3 could do this until reading your OP. However, when i go into a hand "Show HUD" is greyed out. Any ideas?

I haven't used PT3 in about 2 years so I have no idea. However, the guys on their support forum are really knowledgeable. I'm sure if you posted your question there you'd have the answer in about half a day.

I presume he means clicking on "Stats Up to Day of Hand" in the lower right of the replayer. HEM should change this, as it's very misleading. It actually shows stats up to month of hand, not day, so if you are just looking at the stats for the current month, clicking in this box has no effect.

Yea this is what I was referring to but like Rage said doesn't help.

"Show HUD" is only available when not importing.
