    Default Don't deposit stars/FTP checks

    Dear iopq,

We were recently informed by one of our check providers that their bank
account has been frozen. As a result, the following check cannot be
cashed or deposited at this time:

    Transaction ID: ***
    Amount: $600.00
    Mailed date: "May11, 2009"

We are in communication with the provider to establish the exact
circumstances, and find an immediate solution. We appreciate your
patience in the meantime and will provide a further update by end of day
    Monday.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any disruption this has caused
    you.

    Best Regards,

    Eduardo

Ask for some kind of reparation for being inconvenienced! Pretend you're pissed off! Get a free shirt or SOMETHING!

Actually, better yet, get that money clip. It's pretty SWEET.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

they'll def. give you like 10% of your check, this sucks though, I wonder what the deal is.

there is a big 2+2 thread about it - sounds like one of the payment processors is having problems. Full Tilt and Stars both affected

I would not worry 2 much. PokerStars should resolve the problem fast, they are always on top of things like this.

This. A few people's Bank of America's accounts were banned forever due to being related to online gambling.

I noticed this 3 days ago when I tried to make a deposit on Full Tilt and they sent me an email saying that eChecks was 'temporarily' unavailable.

I found this online(so it must be true)
Gambling911(dot)com learned late Friday that the Attorney General's office in New York State has targeted this particular processor.
Other sites have been saying the same thing.

I know this is a bigger deal for people trying to get their money off of the sites than for me trying to make a first deposit on Tilt, but I hope they clear it up soon.

    Hello Igor,

    Thank you for your email.

As soon as PokerStars and the affected check processor have ascertained the
situation, we will let you know how we plan to proceed. You should expect an
update by end of day Monday.

Any new check you request via the PokerStars Cashier will be issued from a
different bank account and can be deposited and cashed without problems.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

    Regards,

    Anthony

This seems like a big deal, and there's a lot of talk about it now in the news and on the various other forums out there.

So in light of this scary b.s.... For those who have money in a PokerStars account and who were hoping to keep getting eCheck cashouts, does anyone know if PS will still definitely release our $ via ol' fashioned checks sent via mail?
  15. #15
Have there been any updates on this? Is there any reason to be concerned about future cash outs?

What a bunch of BS. I can't stand how this govt thinks that Poker is a big problem in today's world. We got N. Korea testing nukes, Iran in an almost civil war because of maybe a rigged election, a crappy economy, and they freeze poker money, and bail out auto makers. How about getting all our boys back from Iraq?

Iran's quasi-civil-war reminds me of Venezuela of '02.

I live in Canada, and we've heard too many stories of how Pokerstars checks can't get cashed in the states. Not sure if it's true for all states, but my cousin who lives in Minneapolis, just transfers the amount he wants to withdraw from his pokerstars account to my pokerstars account, and I send him a check, or more recently, paypal. Been doing it 2 years now.
    Easy peasy.
I hope that crap changes for you guys down south. Shitty deal indeed.
