    Default Colossus Pay Structure Disappoints

    Judging from reactions on twitter, the wsop went too far this year in terms of having a flat payout structure for the Colossus tournament.

    Players said the winner of the tournament gets paid less than the house.

    @JasonMercier was glad he skipped it:
    Why is colossus first place only 638k? Lol is that a joke? Like 6% of prize pool? Now I'm really glad I skipped it... should be 1 mill easy

    Jason was retweeted by other players like @jctran23.

    @themouthmatusow made his thoughts known:
    Rake 1.4 million 1st place 680k seems fair for wsop #embarrassing

    Disgrace only 638k out of 11million for 1st I colossus pa more players rake more players#sadwsop

    $11 million purse, and they could not find a million to give to the winner, I mean that is less than 10 percent. Some pools payout 20 percent to the winner. Rake was 1.4 million. So we know who is the real winner here.
    It takes 2 years to learn to talk, but a lifetime to learn when to shut up.

    The rake was about 12% so its ok, it doesnt matter the total amount , just the % you pay. they are paying the same amount to the players, if they gave 2 millions to winner, but less money to the other players, then you will think its ok because 1st cashes more than the house? LOL

    The payout is good for poker obv, more players with more "distributed money", but anyway i think the first prize should be a little bigger.

    First place, 6% payout. Ridiculous. Just the type of tournament I like to find.

    The tournament was to attract recreational players, paying more of the field will make more people want to play in it and come back next year, I think it was a fine payout structure, there are plenty more tournaments to play in, people just being moans
