Canadian Daniel Negreanu Cleans Up at WSOP Asia Pacific.

We are pleased to announce that Daniel Negreanu is the winner of the first WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event. Negreanu bested a field of 405 opponents to capture the WSOP bracelet (his 5th) and $1,038,825 prize.

Negreanu was quick to celebrate his win and thank his family, friends and fans on Twitter: "Thanks to all my friends and family for giving me the confidence I needed! So happy!!!!"

This marks Daniel's first WSOP bracelet win since 2008. It is also his first seven-figure score since his runner-up finish in the 2011 PokerStars PCA Super High Roller tournament.

Phil Ivey captured his 9th WSOP bracelet by winning the $2,200 WSOP Asia Pacific Mixed Event on April 11th. Neagreanu was also present at this final table, where he finished fourth after losing an all in to Rob Campbell in a hand of seven-card stud eight-or-better.

Last week in the first WSOP Asia Pacific side event, Canadian born Jonathan Duhamel placed 4th for $71,870.
