Best Merge skin?

    Default Best Merge skin?

I'm finally thinking of pokering again for the first time since WA got the boot from stars/ftp. It looks like the Merge network is my only option (no, AP/UB is not an option, nor should it be for anyone else).

Rakeback will be the same, regardless of the skin, so I'm looking for opinions on which skin is best. Promo's are great, but my main concerns are customer support and cashouts.

    Anyone?

I don't know of any reg users of Merge on FTR at all. But if you have a RB account at RTR or another decent provider I would just look for a skin and deal there since your RB provider will do the best work for you if the need arrises.

If you don't have an RTR account go here http://www.raketherake.com

from what I've seen on 2+2 theres a whole bunch of skins on merge that are part of a group that have scammed players in the past . reefer is one of the component skins . These operate there own cashier seperate from the rest of the merge network . Heres a list

    IGS/Futurebet/GameTech Solutions /GameTech Gaming blacklisted

so basically avoid any of these as the parent firm has a reputation for scamming its players ....google future bet scam etc.

Their cashouts have been slooooowwwwwwwww across the network

RPM and Carbon have dedicated support threads complete with poker room rep on that other forum. Just research I guess!

If you have trouble money on you can try out PokerHost. When I deposited, the transaction appeared as Unlock World Mobile on my statement. The same memo appeared when I cashed out as a well. I assume they are recoding the transactions as non-gambling.

I prefer the look of Carbon and Nordica which is very close by far the best looking, most utilitarian of all sites. UB could learn from them!

I get 35% same day rakeback through Rake The Rake. PM me for a referral if you'd like but try to get one from someone because it gives the referrer an extra 3/4% in rakeback.

Rake is a little higher at merge than other sites, same rate but higher minimums at lower stakes. No limit I believe the max is $3 at all stakes for 9 seat ($2 for 6 seat, $1 for HU) where the other sites usually have a lower max rake at the less than $2 bb tables.

I think Carbon and Nordica share support which is within a few hours.

Agreed, Merge support/RB/bonuses are pretty great. But the cashouts have been epic slow lately. I waited over a month for my last wire cashout.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

After being there a while, I recommend RPM. Great CS and trying to cram as many promos as they can can in,trying to please everyone.

They have live chat and always have seemed to shoot straight. They haven't sugar coated issues (slow pays), and communicate with you until you're satisfied. One of the best CS dept's in poker rught now.

I believe PokerNordica is on shakey ground,Carbon might be your best option...

Keith_MM's post applies to that too.

I appreciate the feedback, but please, provide some reasoning.

Hey Hawk, I played at PDC for years. I loved it because the games were soft, the bonus system was great for me due to micro stakes and ya gotta love the animation. Recently I had a issue where their payment processor removed an extra 400.00 from a 50.00 deposit but that was not PDC's fault it was there payment processor. My bank returned the money to me.

I play strictly sng's now and they did not provide enough traffic to accomodate that but recently they have merged with Carbon and a few others from what I read on the web. However I viewed the number of players online last night and still only around 4000.

    Good luck to ya.

Did they change the law in Wash, it used to be a felony eh? what a bunch of idiots. I used to live in Oregon, their just as bad.

    Default RPM vs Carbon

Bumping this old post as it now seems particularly relevant....

After too many hours of trying to figure out the options for US players, I've narrowed it down to RPM and Carbon. I think maybe I'm just too dizzy at the moment from looking at the 100 sites & their individual promos to know what the f*ck I'm reading anymore, but can someone please tell if there's a substantive difference between RPM & Carbon for someone like me:

I multitables NLHE cash games at the micros (hopefully higher soon!) & play between ~10k-20k/month, which could vary (in either direction) more based on my real-life stuff. I'll be signing up w/ a 35% rakeback & 100% dep bonus thus will get 6.5 point exchange rate on both. I know RPM support is supposed to be better, but outside of that does anyone see a real difference in the promos & VIP reward programs?

(And yes, btw, I know this may not be a good time to deposit anywhere right now, but poker is just a hobby, I'm depositing a small amount, I want/need the practice, blah blah blah, so please let's skip the comments about safety of online poker now, my sanity, etc.)

p.s. I've downloaded software for both but haven't deposited yet, so I'd basically be starting from scratch. Software difference seems imperceptible. Thanks guys.

How do you get rakeback and still sign up thru FTR?
  19. #19
I didn't see another thread for this, but figured I'd post this here:

Merge Gaming To Terminate Rakeback Program June 1st

Anyone see this? Thoughts about how this might effect decision to play on Merge? This seems pretty significant.

Merge in the process of redoing their VIP system. Supposedly will be comparable to Stars' after June 1st.

Do they all have the same payment processors, ie, is any 1 Merge site less likely to pay you than the others? or would you feel just as comfortable (all VIP stuff aside) with your money on RPM as you would be with it on Carbon or poker Nordica or Black Chip?

I guess I'd rather have my money on a larger site like Carbon or RPM even though I'm playing on Black Chip :O. Black Chip doesn't have any pay out options that set it apart from the big skins. With that being said, I do know of a small Merge skin that does bank transfers and WU for payouts.

Have played Carbon for over 4 years now and have never had a problem with deposit or withdrawals. Then again being from the UK it is a lot easier than our oversees friends.

    Enjoy
