Default Automatic Card Shufflers - How they work?

I was just curious on how automatic card shufflers such as the one listed below shuffles cards?

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....198870881&rd=1

They are the only type of card shufflers I am able to find here in Australia, and I don't want to be stuck with a crappy one

    Thanks in advance

unless you want to spend a couple hundred or even a thousand for a nice one it will be crappy and not really worth it

I agree. The cheap one's are very noisy and it takes more time to shuffle 2-3 time with it them 4-5 times with the hands

What you do is you take the deck and split it in two. You put each half on each side of hte shuffler. There are little rubber wheels that spin underneath the half decks and shoot them into the center tray.

only ones that are reliable and quiet are the Deckmates. But if you want one of those im pretty sure its over $1,500. At home card shufflers just really dont work well enough to use all the time and be efficient

The best method I've found is to have two decks in use at the same time. Whichever player on either side of the dealer who is not in the current hand shuffles the deck from the last hand. The dealer then only has to do a quick riffle and cut to deal the next hand. Rinse, repeat. Works very well for us.

no no no.. I've dealt with 2 deck games, and they are a good idea and keep the game moving, but holy god.... there is some major crooked dealing and rigging. It has been spotted and confronted, and is a very suspicious thing to do. Play with one deck, only safe way.

Dont play against cheats!!!! But really, I prefer to play in games where the house has a dealer, I hate dealing cards.

I think that if you use two decks that are different colors that it would cut down on the opportunity to cheat.

We use 2 decks of different color, there is always 3 people involved in dealing the cards and since we draw cards for who sits where there is a very small risk for cheating.

    Dealer-2 shuffels
    Dealer-1 cuts
    Dealer deals

This is very smooth and enables you to play a few more hands an hour.

don't forget to use a cut card on the bottom of each deck to prevent flashing and bottom dealing.

i'm pretty sure those shufflemaster machines they use at the casinos are only sold to licensed gambling establishments.

yeah with two decks as long as someone cuts and there are bottom covers on the cards unless you can hang cards and deal from the bottom there really isn't a way to pre fix the deck.

I would agree the cheap home shufflers are not worth it, just too noisy and slow.
