    Default shoot me please

Here are some hands from last night that I felt I played really badly...

    Villain unknown here.....

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP1 ($101.30)
    MP2 ($25.65)
    CO ($142.95)
    Button ($99.90)
    SB ($110.85)
    Hero ($221.95)
    UTG ($112.10)
    UTG+1 ($61.75)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8, 8.
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $3, 4 folds, SB calls $2.50, Hero calls $2.

    Flop: ($9) 8, 5, J (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, UTG+1 calls $6, SB folds.

    Turn: ($21) A (2 players)
    Hero bets $14, UTG+1 calls $14.

    River: ($49) K (2 players)
    [color=#CC3333]Hero ???????

Villain also sorta unknown, but has been in a lot of hands and on the aggro side. Thought he could do this with a FD too. After turn I potscrewed myself...I know this is bad....I think I should fold turn.

Silly hand converter only works for one hand before giving me errors!!

Villain is chicken10der, a 2+2er who seems solid enough. He has called my button raise before and defended his blind by donking into me on my whiffed flop. I felt him capable of defending here too. What's his range?

hand 1: i don't see any serious problems with this hand. I might bet more on the turn. Are you wondering about a good sized river bet? I doubt opp has a flush, unless it is the nut flush. IMO a c/c on the river would be ok, but if he only has the nut flush draw (more likely), i think you can get away with anywhere from 1/2-2/3 PSB, though i think you have to call a shove at that point if you do bet the river.

hand 2: i don't mind tossing this on the flop. Same on the turn.

hand 3: this hand looks like it has to do with history on your opponent. 3:1 pot odds, but your hand is dominated by almost everything he could be holding. I would suggest reading DaGOAT's post in the NL Strategies section of the forum. It gave me some ideas about how to counter 3bets against OPP's. As played, i think it is close either way, though i wouldn't hate a fold.

hand 4: I agree with the turn minraise usually meaning a strong hand. I would usually check the turn, since he will usually check behind w/ out an ace, and a bet will usually only get him to fold hands that you beat.

The problem in hand #1 is his stack size. Any bet really means it's probably all going in the middle.

Hand 2 a fold is probably in order, except for the pesky fact I was convinced of a draw....

Hand 3 I think you are exactly right.....how often is this a pure bluff thinking I am restealing?

Hand 4 I think his line screamed set. I thought that before I thought he would float with an A, unless it was AT/A3/A5....

    shoot me please
lol, i think you might be overexaggerating a bit there

Hand 1: Any reason why you don't want to get villan AI? I don't think he has a flush everytime in that spot, or even enough that going AI is -EV.

Hand 2: Reads/Notes? Even if he does have a draw, this is a tough spot to be in. I think he will only call/push a 3bet with big draws/sets/top two pair type hands. You are pot committed to the hand if you play it past the flop, and i usually don't want to play for stacks with TPGK.

Hand 3: i bet we have both played with this guy a lot. According to my stats on him he is a solid TAG. I doubt he is bluffing enough in this spot to make calling +EV. So, i'd fold it. For the future, you might be better off folding preflop/ calling and trying to take the pot away on the flop. Except A-Q is a hand that is usually dominated against a 3bet range, so i guess i would prefer to toss it.

Hand 4: Yeah i still say checking behind on the turn, and calling a river bet would probably be best.

After reading HOH, i now assume that there is at least a 10% chance your opponent is bluffing. Keep in mind you are probably at best 70/30 against hands he is bluffing with.

Against a loose 5bet (push) range and a 20% chance of a bluff:

    Hand 1: 75.580% 74.21% 01.37% 30497247 562640.50 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

You are getting a reasonable price to call.

Against a standard 5bet (push) range and a 10% chance of a bluff:

    15,410,736 games 0.005 secs 3,082,147,200 games/sec

    Hand 1: 78.772% 78.41% 00.36% 12084159 55116.50 { KK+ }

You are probably slightly incorrect to call his shove, even though only 3 combinations of cards (Ad-Ah)/(Ad-As)/(Ah-As) have you ~9:1 underdog.

Definitely close, but against a solid TAG i would probably fold

    1. pot it (the river) call a push. he might flip JJJ but most of the time he has a flush draw on flop and made at least a pair on turn/river. If we think he has a standard range and will bet river for value then c/r'ing all in might be worth a thought.

    2. He could easily have a a pair and fd and a bare tp worse than us. Given what we know stack a donk the turn IMO until we know better or learn better...

    3. You just tried to isolate and got squeezed, im taking this seriosu and folding to the reraise.

    4. Check here on turn call a river 2/3'rds the time. His flop c/c seems kinda out of line with what we know or guess we know hence my spideysense goes off. He'd surely do something with a tp hand here as thats what we expect, or thats what you've shown us he seems to do. Hence the turn minraise when it looks like we caught a bit is reeeeeally scary. He could also be abd enough to have AK/AT here, but i doubt it.
Going with what we know, we stack off in hand 2 and c/c a river bet in 4 maybe even fold river in 4 after checking behind on turn.

hand one I was up against a flopped flush. Prolly results oriented there. i have my redraws. i kept betting into him, and put him all in on river.

Hand two he had AK and no FD. Those kinds of hands always give me fits....

Hand three I ran into AA. I should have folded to the push, but I looked at my 3:1. I didn't realize it was really that close. I did think he had a wider range than normal in that siuation. I sometimes play AQ too agressively, I think.

I folded turn in hand 4. I thought it might be weak, but that is a set line a lot.

Given the outcome of Hand 2, how do you feel about hand 4 now, and how would you have played it?

Haven't read anything but the original post...

    1. I want to get this AI vs. a half-stack and charge him a little more to draw. $8 on the flop, $17 on the turn, AI on the river.

    2. Flop decision is push or fold vs. a half-stack imo. I like a push b/c half-stacks are often bad, I like to gambool and it's good for image.

    3. I just fold to the first re-raise. Even if you think he's 3-betting light you're still behind his range. If you really want to play I like a call, since you're in position and deepish. But you may have to commit your stack to an ace- or queen-high flop when you could easily be dominated.

    4. Check behind turn, try to showdown cheap. As played, fold to the turn c/minraise.
