Default Give this guy a range....

Villain is 25/9/2 over a few hundred hands. He is capable of a float, and capable of betting when checked to. If you find a fold here, please put him on a range. I put him on 88+, 55, 22, 67, and you could probably throw some floated Axs that picked up the FD in there that I didn't stove......

I could have bet the turn, but I got exactly the result I wanted by checking the turn and making him think I whiffed.

You make it that tight? Given stats/reads/the fact that we have played together a few times and he is a multitabling regular?

    My thoughts...

PF stats, he plays more hands than I do and raises a few less (I run 22/13/2.5). I guarantee you that I would float that flop with any overpair/set/draw if I knew my opp would cbet a good chunk of his PFR range. I guarantee you that Axs, 67, and any PP except QQ-AA I am calling PF (reraising QQ-AA). And I would certainly bet the turn if checked to a lot of the time even with 67, especially against a habitual flop bettor. That's why I make his range broad.

What are the arguments for making the range that tight?

Never check this turn unless you're very sure you're ahead, and equally as sure the opponent will bet if checked to.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

At first I put him on the same range you do in your OP. BUT, if he's thinking past 1st level, he's got to put you on a high pp. You raised UTG and c-bet into 4 players... doubtful you're c-betting this flop with whiffed overs, so QQ+ seems obvious. JJ-99 might call the c-bet, but would probably check behind the turn, so I think his range is weighted towards 88/55.

Like Rondavu, I think you should bet the turn. As played, I probably call and c/f river, as weak as that is.

Against most players I do bet this turn and fold to a push. I had intentionally planned to CRAI, thinking that I was almost certain to be ahead, and positive he would read my check as weakness.

After looking at it last night and today, I think bet/fold would be better even against this guy (at least with this many people in the hand). I think the hand is different if we are HU, and is different if positions were reversed (I give him more credit for a set in that case).

Yeah, HU with some history, I like this play more. Not necessarily c/r the turn AI though, probably call and make a 1/2 pot river value bet.

FWIW--I was 60/40 against the range I give, which is why I brought this hand up for discussion.....
