    Default Drew's 1-1 V.2.0

They didn't last long the first time, but they're back.

After each session I'll be posting two hands. One of which I won and the other I lost. Feel free to critique as played and otherwise.

    Hand 1)

Villain is a 19/11/3 reg over a lot of hands. BB vs steal stats are 79/15/6.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP3 ($42.15)
    CO ($64.40)
    Button ($88.50)
    Hero (SB) ($110.60)
    BB ($100)
    UTG ($83.75)
    UTG+1 ($100)
    MP1 ($136.60)
    MP2 ($113.45)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8, 7
7 folds, Hero bets $3.50, BB calls $3

    Flop: ($8) 8, K, 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $6, BB raises $15, Hero calls $9

    Turn: ($38) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $18, Hero calls $18 Standard?

    River: ($74) K (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $39, Hero? A call is tempting, is it not? He can't valuebet anything other than one of the two remaining kings.

    Hand 2)

Villain is a loose newb preflop in the first 50 hands or so. I think his preflop range is pretty wide.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button ($40.45)
    SB ($100)
    BB ($83.95)
    UTG ($52.45)
    UTG+1 ($256.70)
    MP1 ($34)
    MP2 ($104.45)
    Hero (MP3) ($100)
    CO ($100)

    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J, J
4 folds, Hero bets $4, 3 folds, BB calls $3

    Flop: ($8.50) 9, 9, 10 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5, BB calls $5

    Turn: ($18.50) 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $12, BB calls $12

    River: ($42.50) 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $18, BB raises $62.95 (All-In), Hero calls $44.95

How often is this river c/r a bluff?

    Total pot: $168.40

not nearly enough to justify a call

is there any merit in checking back river in H2 if we are never good when he c/r us? or he calls enough worse to make a b/f profitable?
All posts are just my own opinion about a hand or a general situation... not advices on how you should play...

He hasn't shown any evidence to have JJ beat up to this point so I can't check back, there's just too much value to be had. My river bet sizing was supposed to be a blocking bet against a c/r shove actually.

Just because we're never good when he c/r's us doesn't mean that a river bet is bad. If he only c/r's with better 20% of the time, but calls with worse 80% of the time etc etc.

calling flop OOP in hand1 makes me feel dirty, but as played I'm tempted to call with the billions of missed draws.

And this isn't 2005, no need to make it 3.5 and 4x preflop

hand 1 i'd fold flop. we are crushed vs any value range and are likely to face more barrels on later streets from any semi-bluffs.

hand 2 i think all streets are fine until you call river. this is very rarely a bluff from a weaker player, especially seeing as they will often flat-call A high (which is also why i like your river sizing)

a little town called none of your goddamn business
i'd call down in hand one, and I think you won. The flop call is not that bad. I'd definitely call the river.

Hand two I guess you called and lost. It's probably a fold, but you should have bet 6 on the flop and more on the turn just to shove the river.

1 id fold flop unless we know he's light on flop a lot. preflop stats seem pretty passive
if he is, its a good hand to make a stand with. if we call turn, calling river - his value range is not tooooo wide, and fair few bluffs, good price

hand 2 foldin river- need a read to think fish c/r bluffin river
