obviously, you are hearing a lot of "fold K4o pre-flop" type comments, and i AGREE.
however, since you played the hand anyway...
i would say to raise more on the flop than the minimum. you are a bit vulnerable, even with two pair because of the flush draw, and the A. any kicker that pairs a weak A makes "aces up" and tears you apart. ( i hate minraises, they beg to be sucked out on)
as it looks, though, he WANTED to chase his gutshot, and the stacks were going in regardless the size of the flop raise...so...
you actually did the right thing, whether you knew it at the time or not...YOU GOT IT IN WHEN YOU ARE THE FAVORITE. you were 81% to hold up.
and against a "maniac," i make this play (if i decide to steal w/ K4, which i DO NOT, and hit two pair on the flop) a million times over every time i can. it just came out unfortunate.
lessons to be learned: 1) dont steal from maniacs, unless you have a solid starting hand, as they will defend their blinds with total crap. 2) dont steal/play K4o under any circumstances
3) however, when you flop 2 pair or better against a maniac and are HU...GET IT ALL IN, if possible.
