100NL: Aces OOP vs unknown

FIRST hand at the table, no stats on villain.

When can this line mean anything that I beat?

A turn plan involving "calling", has gotta involve a good river plan.

I'm so very lost and afraid here...hold me close FTR...

folds - you look like at least AK and villain isn't scared. Would you fold AK here? is AA any better than AK against this villain?
limp-call pre is so often low-mid pairs. Call flop, raise turn is a classic set line. There is so much in an unknown's range that crushes you - KQ/TJ/89/88/99 - I'm waiting for a nicer spot

If villain was a decent, thinking player I'd agree with you here 100%. A bad player could do this with worse.

With no reads I might agree with you that a fold is probably in order. ...but you know my laggy ass can't fold aces so that's not how this hand played out

Frankly i'm in the same boat as you. You've been at 100NL enough hands to assume that if he's an unknown, he's not a regular?

Readless I probably curse my position and fold. But I'm a nit.

At this point in my PT DB that's a fairly safe assumption for me. UB is a small site, and it doesn't take many hands to get a good idea of who the regs are...

So the consensus seem to be fold, which I agree with in retrospect.

I opted instead to gambol on villain bluffing, call turn, and c/c a smaller river bet, fold to a push.

River checked around and villain flipped the last hand in the world I thought he'd have: AK.

More evidence that to properly extract from donks, you really need to understand the mindset of a donk. I can't figure out why villain would decide to raise the turn, but not bet the river. Really strange, but then again I'm not even sure that donks' play makes sense to even them.

If you plan on calling a small river bet, why not just raise the turn to like 60 instead?

Because it would scare off the hands out there that I do beat, but potentially get me small river value from them if villain tries to take another stab at the pot on the river.

if the river was a scare card, I can see him checking behind. Probably important to put a note on this guy that he played TPTK like the nuts/set. gives you a good idea of what relative hand strength you will need in the future vs. him, assuming he is around long enough to see him again.

Very true. Sadly he bailed after this hand.

River was a safe card, but he still checked it behind. Strange.
