Forum Conversion Question

Xianti, in Muzz's "slooooow" FTR thread, you said the forum conversion was continuing. Are we switching to the vBulletin platform? I seem to recall that, but couldn't find anything definitive.

If we do go/are going to vBulletin, they have [latex] [/latex] forum tags which allow you use to the math/science LaTeX markup codes. In LaTeX, you can easily post equations and math symbols of all types.

I'm just offering, if and when we get the new conversion done, to post a LaTeX help guide, emphasizing the types of mathematics expressions that would be most helpful to FTR, obvious things mostly like fractions, combinations, and arrays.

Probably other guys around here know LaTeX as well.

Of course, if my memory has failed and we're not going vBulletin, hopefully the new architecture has LaTeX capabilities. It would be VERY nice.

We are indeed switching to vBulletin. A LaTeX guide would be great, when the time comes. We don't yet have a date scheduled, as we're making sure all modifications are in place and working properly.

I'll certainly help out. I've already created a LaTex help guide for my students so I can have something ready to roll whenever we switch.

I might actually need some time/help getting fully integrated with vBulletin myself, as I've never used it much before, and certainly never seen it from the Administration side.

Been trying to read the online manual for it, but there's nothing like getting into it and toying around with it when it's live for a quick learning experience.
