FTR is not a site for the casual player nor the freetroller. It's not what we are about. Our philosophy is about building bankrolls, climbing stakes and a community to support that through education and sharing knowledge. There are plenty of sites for people that just want to flounder, enjoy the entertainment of poker and be a casual player. We won't be offended if that is what you want to be and decide to take your 15 posts a year to another site.

This is coming from a nine-year veteran who has extensive experience doing exactly what he preaches, dedicating time to working on his game, building a bankroll, entering serious poker-related discussions with fellow members, moving up in stakes, etc. Jim also has years of experience moderating the boards and is a former Forum Manager here at FlopTurnRiver.

While the tone is direct, I think some players would see Jim's post as an open invitation to participate in the community. It's great to have a solid group of contributing members here at FTR that will give honest poker advice for those who are serious about working on their games.

Personally, I think all poker players, regardless of skill level or serious/casual approach to the game, should be welcome here provided they are routinely contributing. Although this personal view is in-line with the official FlopTurnRiver stance, there is a forum hierarchy in place (which I 100% agree with) that places a significant amount of importance and legitimacy on posts created by veteran contributors with massive post counts such as Jim's. I've been a member of FTR for a few months, Jim has been here almost since the very beginning -- with more than 1,000 posts per year to substantiate his views.

If you are serious about your poker game and want to share in discussion of hand histories and other poker-related topics, then our newer/less-contributing members will be wise to take Jim's insight here and head to our Poker Forums to engage in worthwhile discussion.

    WOW!

A surprising - and as you put it Dave - a very direct answer. I certainly did not disrespect FTR in any way shape and form in my post, (can't say the same about your response). As a matter of fact I have great respect for FTR and for the more knowledgeable poker players.
In general I find on most forums that poker players (the general poker community) is generous in providing advise, support to the lower/mediocre players. Also jym - with all the respect - you do not know me - which is obvious from your reply - seems you making assumptions that I am looking for freerolls etc. I very seldom play freerolls. It is not my cup of tea. But there is nothing wrong with people playing freerolls - probably most of us started that way - and became hooked on the game. What I am saying is that - people evolve and grow into better and better players. Besides the champs would not be champs if there were no many people that they did beat. Would be pretty boring if all you had was 10 top rated players discussing hands.
Basically you told me you do not want me - and that's ok - but are you sure? What will the future hold for you?

    Hello!

I join the FTR in October and I just have 1 post especially because I have been some problems with my PC software. But starting for today, I really believe that the problems were gone and I can now be more active in FTR Forum.

In order to that, I just want to know if I'm legible to play today's Freeroll FTR $250 Added on Pokerstars?

    Best regards!
