    Default FTR Calendar Goes Live!

I'm sure you've noticed our new Calendar feature (at the top, left of FAQ and the 7-day view drill-down near top-right).

Until we do a little more testing with it and post our first real event in the Calendar, no one but Admins will be able to post new topics in the Calendar.

Once we have a format for posting events and demonstrate it by posting a real event, Moderators will be able to post events (and perhaps help us Admins populate the calendar). This means the next time someone wants to set up a private table at PartyPoker for FTR'ers, a Moderator can post it in the Calendar.

Events in the Calendar are linked directly to the forum topic of the event. Only Moderators will be allowed to create new topics (and make a Calendar event). Others will be able to reply to an existing topic, but may not create new topics in the "FTR Calendar" forums.

I did this because I don't want these new forums to become huge discussion venues (where anyone can create new topics), but rather just event info and topical discussions of the events.

Unless otherwise indicated, all times are Eastern Time.

Let me know what you think.

Pacific Time? Thats odd... wouldn't EST be a more "Standard" choice?
I built my own poker table... Check It Out

    Xianti,
A calendar would also be an excellent way to post reload bonuses at various poker rooms. I usually keep up with these via posts in the Online poker forum. Would be nice to be able to see all the reloads at once on one calendar.

The most standard choice would be GMT, but I would prefer CST.

I would prefer MST, since its where I live, but most poker sites use EST so I think that is the "best" candidate.

    Go GMT!

FTR should require that all users include all timezones for postings in order to be approved, in the support of diversity. Think about all those little time zones in Africa that don't get any attention at all. A damn shame is what that is.

Thanks for the calendar, I think it'll make it a good addition.
In answer to your question... it depends...

Yeah, GMT, BST, Continental, all horribly under represented time zones. Do you know where Africa is? :P

I agree that we should use EST. That's what Poker Stars does and it would standardize ue with them.
    I live in MST.
This site is very well run by the way.
The race doesn't always go to the fastest or the strongest but it's a pretty good bet.

So What Happens {like today} when in the private section ,of Carbon poker your FTR11 is listed and It doesn't show on the calender. I didn't get ant event posting in my e-mail, just that I noticed the tournement.

I agree, I got lucky to find today's 9-11 game. I seldom am at Carbon, but another forum had a facebook freeroll at Carbon. This great money added tourney deserves to be posted on our calendar. (Unless we want few entrants, which would not be bad ass tourney will start with a minimum of 2 entrants)

Bodog has the FTR game in the lobby for Tuesday the 13th at 705pm pacific. I hope the Bodog game runs with the appropriate money added and the password given out

Very surprised that the Bovada Sunday Night Football $5 entry tournament
is not listed on our calendar. Would be nice to have it out there every Sunday until the 23rd of December so some members have a chance for a value added tournament.

    Good idea, done

Thanks for considering my idea. I know I suggested the same idea to another forum, to put their tourneys on their calendar, and they said no way. It's like, I said people like me do not have time to mess around. If it's not on the calendar we move on.
Again, thanks for making it easier to see a game offered. Much appreciated.
