right, so it doesn't match up completely, but come on... this is one of my biggest pet peeves, when people take analogies and try to refute the point it is meant to make based on the analogy being flawed. All analogies are flawed. If they werent then they would all be "X is like X" instead of "X is like Y" because X is clearly different from Y in several ways and therefore there are always "flaws" in the comparison.

edit: also I think a simple solution to the issue of people seeing your android sex toy is to have each one sold with a "locker." Even though everyone would know whats in the locker, out of sight out of mind and whatnot. This unit could also be used to clean/sanitize/charge the android. Similarly if it were virtual reality instead of an android, I think people would be a lot less creeped out when they saw a small entertainment center type device.
