Wellfear! (itt my band has released music vid!)

A few of you know that my band has been working on releasing an album for some time now. Well, the wait is almost over - the CDs are being pressed and digital distribution (ie itunes, spotify and all the other big names) is underway. Today we released our first video, head over to our facebook page to check it out and leave comments or whatevs .

I heard a raw version of this song several months ago and thought it was just ok, so I was like wtf when I heard this.

We are aware of but undecided on the mandatory like issue. In the very early phase it's a matter of getting some half decent numbers quickly to give more credibility to the page for when we launch the real marketing campaign. A little bit down the road we will re-evaluate.

No, it just means you have to click the Like button on their Facebook page to hear the song. You don't need to be connected to their circles in anyway. Pretty standard for Facebook.

Thanks again guise, we're getting lots of positive feedback from everywhere. On the music, that is, the facebook mandatory 'like' thing is catching a little bit of flak as is understandable. Like I said we're constantly re-evaluating this, and it will probably be gone soon. It's pretty standard to have it if the band is well-known, but it might be a bit off-putting when you just want to check out a new band. For now we're keeping it so that we can grab the 'like's of curious acquaintances etc. lol rilla, there's no "marketing guy", this is all DIY.

Hopefully google will recognize 'wellfear' as a legit search phrase once we get the main website up and put our SEO hats on

Today we released a new song for streaming or free download, this time on Urørt. Urørt is a website run by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, and deals with undiscovered norwegian bands. Select bands are featured on their weekly radio and tv shows. Of course the chances of that happening aren't great, but pretty cool nonetheless.


The site is in norwegian but I'm sure you can figure it out - the songs are on the right side with a red 'play' button next to them: NRK Urørt - Wellfear

Again, if you like it it would be nice if you like us on facebook as well, it helps alot

The live stream idea is something we've been talking about for a while, definitely a cool thing to do when we have built a bit of a following. Time zones could be challenging though. We're also going to be releasing a good amount of videos on youtube as well (non-music content as well as music vids).

The black one that the lead guitarist uses is my Randy Rhoads RR3R. It's a budget model and was only used in the video - in the studio he used a Music Man John Petrucci signature 7-string. The white one I'm not 100% sure but I think it's an R24. It's a pretty sweet guitar, EMG81 pickup and proper wood. I'd prefer a non-Floyd Rose version though.

I think we have a slightly higher $$ return on itunes what with ludicrous shipping rates to the US, but then again it's pretty cool to own a physical CD made by someone you know.
