Default Virus on my PC -- Help

So last night I clicked on a link from FTR so I could watch The Pacific, and all of the sudden I have all of these pop-ups on my PC saying I have malicious software everywhere. I didn't download anything.

I've tried three times to run my anti-virus software (something VERY similar happened about two months ago), but every time it gets about 50% complete with a scan it shuts down.

Somebody help me fix my PC please!

My anti-virus software won't even update anymore without turning off.

There's a little "vista" logo in my toolbar that keeps popping up random shit about whatever viruses I have, it's called "Vista Internet Security 2010" fwiw.

pretty straight forward, just follow the instructions on this site

Vista Internet Security 2010 (can be also called as Vista Internet Security) is a rogue anti-spyware program that simulates a system scan and reports false scan results just to scare you and make you think that your computer is infected with Trojans, worms and other malware. Once installed, it will display fake security alerts or notifications and then inform you that you need to pay money to register the program if you want to remove the infections and computer threats, which of course do not even exist. Do not pay for this software and get rid of Vista Internet Security 2010 form your computer upon detection using the removal stated guide below....

I had a variant of the virus a few months ago. Not exactly sure how I got rid of it, but everytime it would popup after I visited some reacting site I would just cancel it via start task manager and run an avg scan. Eventually it stopped altogether which I think coincided with a new windows update or perhaps me switching from firefox to chrome

If it was from freetvshows.com I have never got a virus from the site. You just need to never click on any links, sans the actual show links. Close any pop ups that occur. The worst one is the one that looks like defender running a scan but is actually in the IE browser. That one gets a lot of people. I use FF or chrome always and have Avira, super antispyware and malware bytes running as well.

Nah, it was from RLSLOG, my bad. Even though I have never got any virus or spyware or other general malware from that site, and the visitors do police the site within the comments.

Never ever use IE again UG.
