    Default Townsend's multiple accounts

Is this a common thing for high stakes players? It would have to give you a huge advantage especially in these high stakes games. I always thought Townsend had a pretty good reputation (other than just being a good player).

Never read any stickies or announcements
Having only read into the situation very minimally, he had multiple accounts, but never played at the same table together with them. Right or wrong, that is pretty typical among high stakes players. While anonymity certainly is an advantage, I'm not sure what he's really apologizing for.

    For getting caught.

I dunno -- maybe it's tough to get action as a red letter pro on FT, but it seems like there's always people in line to play with em'.

If it means that people play differently against you, adapt?

I obviously don't understand the high stakes world...

    qft

I can't believe what a reaction it's getting. I can understand why some of his peers might not like the fact they're playing against him without knowing who it is. But so many people are bashing him in that thread. I'm sure 99% of them are donk stake bustos that just want to take part in some drama.

FWIW I don't see how it's any worse than someone playing while being coached.

i could care less about that whole situation outside of one thing he said:

(paraphrased) "i felt that if i was only playing 25/50 and 50/100 that i was bad at poker."

    seriously, fuck you brian townsend.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

More proof that most poker players are egomaniacs, and that dropping stakes is an ego blow, regardless of which stakes you play at. It's all relative.

    "oh noez, I can't play 200/400 anymore, I'm such a donk"

i hope they run some kind of bonus promotion with his confiscated funds:

Players are not allowed to create, use, or deposit to more than one account. Players who are found to have multiple accounts or to have allowed multiple users to access their account may face account suspensions or revocations, and forfeiture of their accumulated Full Tilt Points and real money balances.

guy laliberte has had like 3 accounts i believe, but i don't see anyone really getting up in arms about that (it could have something to do with the fact he's like 15 million on ftp)

and i think benyamine had like 2-3 accts, but only plays on the one now.

Good for him. This is a big whatever.

He played on the account long enough that people knew he wasn't a n00b.
