Default Really bitter taste in my mouth (help).

Iv been having this really bitter taste in my mouth for a while now and I have no idea what it is.

I had it for a while about 6 weeks back while in LA.
As far as I recall, it went away for the 2 weeks I was in vegas and San Jose.
Now, the bad taste is back.

It is really bitter and will not go away even when I take care to brush my tongue. At first I thought it could have been tonsillolith but I am pretty sure its not that.

I have a pretty good diet and take vitamins daily.

Does ANYONE have any idea what it could be and how to get rid of it.

and no I do not suck dick.

Iv been looking for things that I did differently, vitamins could be it. I'll try cutting them out for a week and seeing if anything is different.

Most people who develop ALS are between the ages of 40 and 70, with an average age of 55 at the time of diagnosis. However, cases of the disease do occur in persons in their twenties and thirties. Generally though, ALS occurs in greater percentages as men and women grow older. ALS is 20% more common in men than in women. However with increasing age, the incidence of ALS is more equal between men and women.

probably not it...but get checked out

lol only 21. Its not very metallic so im pretty sure its not ALS
  22. #22
Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. I just googled "bitter taste symptom" and it came up. Just go see a doctor.
  23. #23
ALS isn't necessarily an old people disease. Lou Gehrig was only around 35 when he had it and it can strike younger people than that too.

You could have acid reflux. Or appendicitis...I had a bitter taste in my mouth with that.

Its been over a month now, if I had appendicitis for over a month wouldn't I be in a ridiculous amount of pain?

hows your tooth health? I had a crack in one of mine that put this nasty ass taste in my mouth cuz it was rotting.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

Not nec. It can come and goes at first.

You've got no other symptoms at all?

    non at all.
I'm a pretty healthy person, which is why this is slightly disconcerting.

I havnt taken a vitamin in two days now and the bitter taste is .... different. Not nearly as apparent as before but not really "gone" either.

    Update?????

its been 10 days since iv taken a vitamin and the taste is pretty much gone now.
  38. #38
That was my first thought. If you want to try a different vitamin, go to GNC and buy the MegaMen.

Iv heard alot of good things about the MegaMen and I have GNC down the street.

If the vitamin is the culprit, and it most likely is, what part of the vitamin do you think caused it? Iron overdose? Just plain vitamin contamination?
  40. #40
That would be a tough call. It could even have been some of the fillers used in the capsule itself, causing a reaction.

Or just eat healthy and dont take multivitamins because they cause prostate cancer.

Probably an overload on some metallic element in the vitamins. Iron or something like that.

Overuse of them anyway. And the ones I have seen my friend buying at GNC have like, 10000% recommended daily intake of things. Cause you need lots of VITAMIIIINS to be strong.
