    Haha.

Your want to murder stupid people is totally stupid, and puts you near the top of your own list.

On the contrary, I have many many intelligence advantages over our kiwi friend featured in the story.

-For example, I'm smart enough not to risk my freedom by doing something stupid like dealing drugs.

-If I were to deal drugs, I would use real drugs, not fake ones.

-If I were to get caught selling fake drugs, I would simply admit defeat, I wouldn't try to stab the guy.

-I'm smart enough to not brandish a weapon unless I planned to use it. The only reason I would pull a knife on somebody, is if I immediately intended to stab them. What kind of idiot commits a crime and plans to leave a witness.

-I wouldn't get myself drunk on homebrew booze made in a prison toilet.

-If I were to get myself drunk, I still think I would be smart enough to know that a tattoo that covers 50% of my face, is a bad idea.

-Even if I thought it was a good idea, I wouldn't let someone who is just as drunk as I am do the tattoo.

-If my only way of finding a job was going online and begging. I would take the first job that was offered to me. No matter what it was. I wouldn't reject dozens of offers because I wanted to find the "right fit".

-I would not claim poverty, and inability to get a car as a reason for rejecting a job while simultaneously spending money on expensive cosmetic surgery to remove a tattoo. Especially when it's been proven that the tattoo is not an obstacle to finding employment.

-And finally, if I ever found myself in the same position as this dude, I'd be smart enough to kill myself.
  4. #23704
You're actually really stupid, if you're getting offered lots of jobs why would you take the first one that comes along?
  5. #23705
While we can argue all day about how stupid banana is or isn't, there's no getting away from the fact he does raise a valid point... that this Kiwi guy is even more stupid.

Your assertion that anything you just said has anything to do with being smart is also totally stupid, and you're still on the top of your own list.

C'mon, dude. You're letting a couple of paragraphs lead you by the nose.
Are you so jealous of his level of pseudo-fame?
Or is it that he has 45+ job offers (which you would appreciate, if not now, at some point in your life), for doing these so-called "stupid" things?
Or is it that he's a father who spends a lot of time with his children, and you're jealous of that?

IDK why you even let this story get under your skin, but you should look into why you have this visceral reaction, and what it tells you about your own wants and expectations in your life.
  7. #23707
mojo, I think you should look into why you have empathy for this guy. He tried to sell fake weed to a tourist and then pulled a knife out on him. Note the use of the word "tried". As in, "failed". So he's trying to pass off, idk, actual fucking grass, for weed, and thinks a tourist is gonna buy it. When the tourist goes "no thank you, please fuck off", he pulls out a knife and is all "yeah man give me your money", so the tourist runs off.

This is not a well thought out crime. I concur with banana's view that the world would be a better place if these kind of people didn't exist. I'm not advocating people go and put him out of his misery, but I wouldn't shed any tears if he got himself a dose of exploding head syndrome.

Dude, I'm not playing this game with you. You clearly want to commit to a very narrow definition of "smart". It's also clear that you're trying to start an argument here where you insist on differentiating intelligence with good decision making. Just fuck off with that shit.

I'm assuming that you're preferred definition is something that can be measured quantitatively. How about this. Just count the number of face tattoos. If it's more than 0, the subject is not smart.

C'mon, dude. You're letting a couple of paragraphs lead you by the nose.
I hope you get fucked in the nose buddy

Are you so jealous of his level of pseudo-fame?
I'm not. Not in the least. I'm jealous of the people who go through life with enough ignorance, naivete, and obliviousness to actually find this man's story interesting, let alone be empathetic to it. I guess you could say I'm feeling lonely as one of the last sane people on earth.

Or is it that he has 45+ job offers (which you would appreciate, if not now, at some point in your life), for doing these so-called "stupid" things?
Again, it's not jealousy. I'm absolutely floored that anyone smart enough to run a business would allow this man to be anywhere near it. It makes me feel extremely concerned about the state of our nation if our business leaders are making these kinds of decisions.

Or is it that he's a father who spends a lot of time with his children, and you're jealous of that?
I don't see how that's possible Mr. Physics. Quantitatively there's no way this guy has spent more time with his kids than I have. I'm a good amount older than he is. And I've spent considerably fewer days in jail than he has. I'd recommend you refrain from ranking parents in relation to others, at least until you have kids of your own. It's not just about how much time you spend with your kids. It's about the example you set. Again, this can be measured quantitatively by counting the number of face-tattoos.

IDK why you even let this story get under your skin
IDK why I get under your skin. But it's kinda fun.

but you should look into why you have this visceral reaction
While I accept that there is virtually an infinite number of varied values systems and cultures within this country. I believe that America, and everyone in it, is a hell of a lot better off if we all adhere to a very basic system of rules and values. That means we don't REWARD criminals who follow up their crimes with even worse decisions. When someone receives the very thing they were begging for, and then rejects it, we should lose sympathy.

and what it tells you about your own wants and expectations in your life.
It tells me I'm fucking awesome.

Don't mistake my mockery of Mr. Stand's barbarian suggestions as me having empathy for the target of his nonsense.

C'mon. Mr. Stand doesn't even seem to realize that this is a New Zealander, and not an American.

If I have empathy, it's for this mindset, which allows someone to pretend that they are criticizing other people, when it's their own sense of personal short-comings which is really on display.

    Too late.

You're position is ludicrous, and if you're not joking, it's really something you should seek help with. Harboring thoughts that murder is an acceptable solution to someone who poses literally 0 threat to you is kinda a red flag that your mental stability may need some polishing.

Once again, you have demonstrated that you have exactly 0 idea of what I want.

My suggestion is that intelligence has many forms, and it can't be simply quantified as that person is smart, that person is stupid. Different people have different talents and which of them are considered "smart" varies wildly depending on the circumstances.

I'm not offering a narrow definition. I'm saying any definition is probably too narrow. Certainly, any definition you're choosing to allow you to argue for the murder of otherwise innocent people is preposterous.

Your sense of reading people is even worse than mine, dude. That's saying something.

I can't think of much you've said that is worth taking seriously. You're spiteful, cruel and your ability to express yourself in your native language is in need of much practice. You resort to petty name-calling and insults and thinly veiled threats when someone disagrees with you. It's the pinnacle of juvenile thinking.

You want to get under my skin? Step up your game and stop saying short-sighted, thinly-veiled self-criticisms.

I care about self-improvement. So long as your message is not only antithetical to improving your own self, but also detrimental to creating environments for other people to improve themselves, then you're a clown, here.

Your message is of ignorance, and so your message is ignored.

Why's all these people who probably enjoy a bit of online erotica gotta hate on other people's enjoyment of online erotica?
"Kids" who aren't interested in porn aren't being forced to look at porn.

Why's people gotta hate on kids? I found a stack of Playboys in a box next to a trash can when I was 10 or 11, and I was immediately interested. What harm was there in that?

I don't get why people think awareness of sex and discovery of personal sexuality is so dangerous. We all have to go through it, and the lack of any accepted social platform during the age when we're actually doing our learning is not helping.

Pretending to put up more barriers isn't going to change anything. There's always a metaphorical trash can full of porn somewhere. People who want to know about sex aren't going to wait 10 years before it's acceptable to talk about it without freaking out the "grown ups" nearby.

I mean I'm just pointing out that this guy does strike me as particularly stupid. Granted, I haven't met him and he could be some kind of autistic genius, but I'm a gambling man and I'd put money on him having a double figure IQ.

And I don't find outrage at the suggestion he should be euthanised. Not unless he's actually serious and isn't just using it as a way of saying the world would be a batter place without these kind of people breathing in valuable air.

I'm not sure why, but he kinda reminds me of the guy who got hit by a train (didn't die) and when he spoke to medics, he said he wanted to see how close he could get his head to the train without touching it. Not sure if that's an urban myth or a true story, but for sure I feel like we're at this level of intelligence with this guy.

People like this guy dying, it's good for the gene pool and it's more oxygen for the rest of us.

I just hope it happens as a consequence of his sheer stupidity. Or natural causes.

At a deep evolutionary level, I estimate it's because it appears probable that sexual dysfunctions can be triggered, roughly speaking, by experiences at a young child age. If true, that doesn't necessarily mean that any interaction with sex for a child would elicit such triggering. I view the extreme protection of children regarding sex as a useful over-correction. Nobody knows what exact experiences for kids could trigger sex dysfunction, but it's a big problem when it happens so it's probably best to just avoid children's interaction with sex things altogether.

On another note, and breaking the "no poker in commune" rule, I just bust out top 50 in MM event 20, 17k+ runners for a measly $125, after accidentally minraising pre vs button instead of shoving my 10bb and allowing him to see a cheap flop with fucking 72s, which of course he didn't pass up on.

    1st is $9k

    46th $125

Disregarding traumatizing and illegal experiences, I'd wager that mystifying and demonizing things while suppressing information about them would be far more likely to trigger dysfunctions than open discussion, freely available information and a normal rational attitude towards them.
Our brains have just one scale, and we resize our experiences to fit.

Wuf is a conservative christian. Sex is bad. Any child who learns anything about sex before wedlock is doomed to a life of perversion and an afterlife of burning.

Your play was a misclick, as I read it.
    Is that right?

It wasn't a mistake of bad decision making so much as a twitchy finger.
Maybe more tea or maybe less. IDK. It's a stimulant that you find relaxing. Dafuq?
Also, you may have to change the blood to drug ratio as it evolves over long sessions.

Tiredness. I'd been up since 10am, it was something like 4am and I'd been playing since 7pm. I moved the mouse above "max" and clicked, but clearly the mouse moved off the button so the click didn't register. A split second later I click raise, expecting to go all in, and see my 3bet is a min 3bet.

I did compund the problem on the flop by shoving ace high on rags, but it was just under a pot sized cbet.

According to timestamp above it was only just gone 2am when I bust.

It felt later than that. I guess that tells you how tired I was.

We're not talking about kids possibly finding a stack of playboys next to a trashcan. Our childhoods were different. There is a lot of fucked up shit peppered across these porn sites now. We've come a long way in the last 20 years.

It's one thing for a child to look at naked pictures and have a healthy curiosity about the human body and sex.

It's another thing if that child instead finds a video of Japanese school girls puking in each other's mouths.

When we were kids, a Playboy magazine was like treasure. It was kept hidden and secret. And it was all you had. Now, kids 10 and 11 years old have smart phones with high speed access to fucking EVERYTHING.

If a 12 year old kid walked into a strip club, sat down, and went unnoticed for some time, that would be outrageous. No one would be saying "What's wrong with a kid having a healthy curiosity". We would demand that the club owners secure their premises and keep children out. Same goes for adult theaters, bookstores, gun stores, bars, nightclubs, or any other place where children shouldn't be.

Why is it unfair to ask the same from businesses on the internet? How is that these sites don't have a responsibility to keep children away?

On another note, this move could actually not be about children at all.

Does anyone here pay for porn? I don't. There's a gazillion new clips posted every day on a bajillion different sites for free. Why would anyone pay a fucking dime for any of it?

Sure some might go the VPN route. But realistically, most guys looking for a jerk fix will just put in their credit card number.

I think it's safe to say most men sitting in front of their computer, with their pants around their ankles, and only one hand on the keyboard are NOT operating with their full mental faculties. I'm sure a guy in that position could EASILY be convinced to drop a few bucks to get the party started. Especially if he ALREADY has his credit card out.

The whole kid-angle could just be a cover for the porn industry sick of being ripped off.

I'm 24, first had access to the internet properly in the early 2000s when I was probably around the ages mentioned in your post. I've seen lots of the weird strange stuff dotted around the internet over the years. As have the majority of my friends. I can't see how it's made all that much difference too anyone, it's not like it's a fucked up horrible generation.

It's also funny that every generation will say things like well porn in my day was nothing compared to the horrible sick twisted shit in porn now.

I like how you're all anti-government yet when it comes to looking after children (i.e. the parents job) you're all for them stepping in and doing it for you.

This is about stopping kids viewing free porn on the internet. It isn't putting it behind a paywall it's putting it behind an age verification process. Much like if you sign up to a poker website you have to show you're 18. A credit card is used because you can't have one before you're 18. It isn't all of a sudden going to cost.

Whilst I'm sure that free porn really has pulled the bottom out of the industry (pun intended) I imagine lots of sites now use free to view places as a way of advertising their sites and are getting ad revenue from them.

Also the UK government recently passed laws that made making lots of types of porn illegal to make in this country basically destroying the businesses of those who did make it (some weird stuff but lots of tame stuff too) so I highly doubt they're trying to give it a boost.

    Say your prayers.

On a serious note, the Christian teaching on sex you described is arguably the worst things that ever happened to somebody I know. She was "no sex until marriage," married a guy she barely knew way too early because she was so hot to trot, and shortly after their marriage began falling apart. They're still together and probably always will be even though it makes her intensely unhappy. She just really does not want to confront the stigma of divorce. Also she blames herself for why her marriage went down the shitter because she once broke the "no sex until marriage" thing.

There was a promis keeper on another forum who played the banjo and looked Amish. One day he posts some pics of a fat chick and how they're super in love, and I'm like: Don't do it! Jack off for christ's sake, that bitch will ruin you. So I get reprimanded by the mods and he's offended and marries the fat chick. A couple years later he's down a house and pays alimony for two kids.

I just went back and did a quick search to make sure I got all the facts straight, and it turns out I just forgot the STD's he got out of the deal, so GJ memory! 2008 he got married, 2011 he made the second getting married thread complaining about his ex wife. hilarious. I want to post the pictures so bad. He's a nice looking kid in a hat and suspenders with a banjo and the bride to be looking like Adele fucked an elephant seal.

That's when you should lump it all on. When bad shit happens to you and it's through your bad choices I'm not sure people being overly nice and comforting exactly helps fix that behaviour.

Are both parties not breaking the law in those situations? Do Cops get immunity for this sort of thing?

Maybe the answer is it's not all that big of a deal to be arresting sex workers. They should just flood the streets with whatever age it is illegal for people to have sex with in Alaska so all the cops get arrested for rape.

Well how about you don't arrest them then.

In what sense? I can't imagine so, Wimbledon probably gets a fair bit of betting as would any big sporting event held in the country doing the betting. Bar that I can't imagine any more than a sport the size of tennis would get.

In the sense that the sport exists in that country mainly for the purpose of betting. Sort of like horse racing, or Jai'lai (sp?) before the mob fucked it up.

There's a story this week about how some unusual betting patterns on Wimbledon matches have sparked some investigations from whatever governing body pays attention to that shit. I heard it on the radio, so I don't have a link. But the reporter went on to say that apparently in Britain, tennis betting is kind of a huge thing. And it's mostly in smaller events where there is less attention paid. In other words, the story said that the crooked bookies tend to stay away from big events like Wimbledon because of the extra scrutiny.

Years ago, when I found out that Jai'lai was thing, I also learned that he players were notoriously corrupt and that an inordinate number of matches were either proven, or suspected to be fixed. I did kinda wonder why this wasn't more widespread in non-team sports. But apparently, it is.

What you're talking about is known to happen a lot, it happens a lot more than gets reported on too but I wouldn't say it's particularly wide spread in tennis compared to other sports. Maybe that's juts going to be the next big thing news story and it wouldn't surprise me that lower ranked tennis players were doing things like serving a double fault on purpose at a certain time or losing matches/sets by certain scores.

It's rife, cricket has had lots of trouble with it, Snooker too. But ye it'll be rife all over the place because it's not hard to pay people to do what is seemingly fairly minor things like bowl a no ball in your 8th over 4th ball etc.

The issue is if loads of money gets put on fairly minor matches like some lowish pro tournament then alarm bells ring so it's not as easy to do as you'd think now people are more aware of it.

Tennis betting is appealing because there are only two outcomes. Also, it's easier to throw a match without being noticed. I don't imagine tennis in Britain is rampant with corruption, but probably more so than football where an individual has less impact on the result. A young player struggling to win enough prize money to fund his career might be tempted to throw a match. Because of this, bookies love tennis because the markets are bigger, and the gamblers love a "sure thing", so the idiots will bet their money based on dodgy tip offs coming from the bookies and crooks themselves.

Tennis isn't a particularly popular sport in terms of TV viewers. Obviously Wimbledon is huge here, but even the other majors don't get the same level of coverage, hardly anyone here gives a fuck how Andy Murray does in the French Open. So if it's popular for betting, it's surely for economic reasons.
