I ate a ton of meat, fish and veggies. But when the dropping in poundage started going too fast, I added white rice and sweet potatoes to the mix. Very rarely I added pasta. Also rare but I tended to add bread and bready stuff as well, ate max twice in two weeks. Also, coffee, tea, water, yoghurt, milk, red wine are the only beverages on the allowed list.

I've seen enough footage of people falling from badly mounted doorway pull up bars to know that it's a terrible idea.

Heh, while quite a few people in the responses argue it proves the existence of God because Nature couldn't possibly give rise to something so complex. God obviously has an eye for detail.

I've changed the volume to 20%. That was an easy piece of pseudocoding. And that was a nice opportunity to use that word.

It's a better game than I could come up with, but it seems a bit too lucky. There's no real strategy except stay as far from the ball at all times as you can.

Yeah it's way more luck than skill, but for a first attempt at coding I'm pretty happy with it. The nerd in me enjoys writing code to fix "bugs", like I'd noticed that after the egg breaks, and the game is over, if you press space, that starts reading some of the code, which at first added a point before stopping the script. So I added a variable x which is a boolean (I learned that word), which means it's basically binary... when x=0 game is active, when x=1 game is over (x is set to 1 when the egg and ball touch or when edge=0). Now when we hit space, first thing the code does is check if x=0 or x=1, and if x=1 then it stops the script. That fixed the bug.

Not really because I'm using visual coding, scratch isn't python. I mean, yes it makes sense, but I don't know how to apply that logic in scratch.

I think it'd be more fun if there was some thinking you had to do. Like, vary the trajectory of the ball from straight to curved, have multiple balls, have the ball(s) change speed/direction in some way that isn't entirely random.

How long you live is basically the score, that's really easy to code. But you can get a decent score just hiding in the corner, waiting for the ball to go there. If you get bonus points for moving, that takes away the incentive to hide.

When I was doing a postdoc in PA, I lived in a student apartment building. A young Chinese couple above me had a piano in their apartment. One of them spent a lot of time practising and they were terrible at it. I could hear every off key note. Drove me nuts. I used to bang on the ceiling, but I didn't shout racist stuff or shoot things at them or their dog.

Calling all those people, it becomes an obsession on your part. The 99% of the time he's not shouting over the fence, I don't even want to be thinking about him. Easier said than done, of course, but being in a constant state of correspondence with authorities, that gets tiring, even more so if it's having little effect. He just finds lawful ways to get under your skin. You feel like it's taking over your life. This is why I'd prefer to actually stand up to him, try to nip it in the bud. But yeah, guns complicate matters a lot. It's difficult to intimidate someone with a gun. You have to convince him you really don't give a fuck if you die. That takes away his primary weapon... fear.

Your idea assumes you understand how his twisted mind works well enough to manipulate him into being a good neighbor, all the while hoping he doesn't go into Rambo mode. Who knows what mental health issues the guy has? He could have PTSD or be a paranoid schizo. He's obviously not well-adjusted, that's for sure. So trying to outflank him mentally is a big risk.

I just wanna piss him off with loud reggae. Force black culture down his throat. I'm just spitballing what my plan B is if he points a gun at my face. At that point I'm forced into defending myself, rather than simply standing up for myself.

My point is there's a clever way to stick up for yourself without risking anything. It almost never involves trying to out-asshole someone. You're making it personal and that's the wrong tack imo.

btw when we were talking about "words", I was arguing that some words are an act of aggression, it was you telling me that no words exist that can have you respond with violence. I was arguing that I'd defend my gf against racial or medical insults, and I'd feel morally obliged to defend my guests, too. I'm also going to stand up for myself against bullies, and this guy is a bully.
