The only thing to be taken away from this is how impressed you should be by Fox News. They rile them up, they make them a movement and a year later, it's still running through the pipelines of legitimate media.

Found this gif of a tea party activist

The question isn't what the Tea Party gets wrong, but what they get right. They are literally the intellectual dregs of society and propaganda fodder for corporate wet dreams. Their beliefs are so ridiculous that parts of that article reads like The Onion. I would be wasting my time if I attempted to point out whats wrong with their positions. It's not like they even have positions in the first place anyways. They pathologically repeat what their political preachers tell them

What I will point out, however, is that this isn't some kind of new. The GOP has been cinching their extremist ideologies for decades, and this is just more of the same. It is difficult for me to predict what will happen with them, but I suspect that the strategy coming from the top is similar to the strategy they appear to have been working for some time. That strategy is minority rule and obstruction. Today, in order to run Congress, all you need is about 30% of the country on your side (this is due to Senate structure and states' power); this is called minority rule.

What I suspect will come of the GOP or the TP (Tea Party) is deepening heels into exacerbating the country's egregious minority rule problem. I just hope that they're so far removed from reality that we're able to put non-crazies (or actual intelligent people like our current POTUS) in the White House for a few decades. Keeping the executive out of the hands of the insane will be a gigantic win in altering the judicial system, progressing the legislative system, and generating gradually more positive social and economic policies both domestic and foreign

And because I hate them, I would like to not underscore the fact that they are wrong about everything. EVERYTHING. You cannot find one single fucking thing they have one single fucking clue about. Only after a year they're back on the Lord Bush was our Dear Leader bandwagon, that muslim/terrorist-nigger-faggot who cheated his way into office is responsible for the Patriot Act and the Great Recession, and the Democrats are trying to strangle grandma with their fatcat fascist greasy satan bacon fingers.

This is not a parody. They are literally that ludicrous, that revisionist, that clueless, and that retarded.

Obama was right when he said that GOP politicians have painted themselves into a corner inwhich if they attempt any kind of bi-partisanship, they lose their jobs from within their own constituency. The teabaggers are a pretty great representative of how gullible and hard-nosed the human genome is

As far as the TP breaking off into a separate party, I'm not sure. What I do like though is the further radicalizing (and thus isolating) they're doing to themselves, and the fact that the more involved they are with their own TP party they less gung ho they will be about GOP candidates and the more money the GOP will have to spend to defend

In a way, I think that focusing on conservatives is a red herring though because corporatism and Reaganomics is thoroughly working its way into the Democratic Party, and the time could come when we raise our hands in victory over defeating the GOP, yet the DP is busily getting DP'd by Multicorp Inc and thus transforms into the new GOP

Awesome reader blog post on talkingpointsmemo.com:

    That was pretty good

I predicted over a year ago (shortly after I began paying attention to politics) that the GOP will wallow in the wilderness for a long time for the entire reason that all those things they 'cant' do, they do nonetheless. It's so bad that I'd probably predict a Dem in the WH in 2016 at like 75% likelyhood (Obama retaining in 2012 is l.do)

The GOP of today is not even remotely as open to the big tent (read: requisite to winning general elections) as the one that ran Darth Jar Jar into office in 2000. Especially now with the internet providing excellent fact-checking en masse, so the propagandists can't rewrite history and preach cognitive dissonance nearly as easily

    Grabbed from another board.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when.. when... wait for it... when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

apparently, their raving against the census has made return rates in republican districts lower than usual, and could result in them losing districts

an outline of tea partiers' beliefs (except for libertarians who are the most consistent conservatives but even liberal libertarians think these people are tards:

    NO MORE TAXES
no! that liberal fascist is actually developing a plan to get out of iraq in a reasonable time frame!
    NO MORE TAXES
now that socialist fascist is reducing our nuclear artillery to an amount that only allows us to blow up the entire world 7-10 times over!
    NO MORE TAXES
that socialist fascist doesn't do NEARLY enough to build a barrier/patrol the boarder and to get rid of all these damn illegals
    NO MORE TAXES
    hurraaaaaaaaaaaay war on drugs!
    NO MORE TAXES
    hurraaaaaaaay capitol punishment!

Given that my family is insane, whenever I see them, I do everything I can to avoid broaching any topic with any semblance of serious implications. Here's why

At our Mother's Day gathering, my father claimed that before the elections, Obama will declare Martial Law because that's the only way anybody will vote for him. He will do so by forcing Israel to bomb Iran, then all the Arabs in the US will bomb Jewish synagogues en masse, then Obama will use that as his excuse for Martial Law

I swear to god it is not possible to be more propagandized than my family. The only member who isn't insane is the BIL, and he's obviously not blood related

Honestly, he baffles me. The real retardation comes from my mom's side of the family. Her lineage is fucking batshit nutso. My dad's more normal. Weirdly, any sort of skepticism or intellect or reasoning capacity I may have comes from my dad. In some ways, he's very keen, but good god he falls for propaganda so easily. As stupid as some of my dad's thoughts, I'm positive that a natural skepticism in myself which was nurtured by my experiences exists only because of his genes. If I was stuck with my mother's side exclusively, I'd be fucking Amish

As is usual with fundies, I think the problem is ego and stubbornness. He refuses to question particular important things, and thus perpetuates a feedback into retardation
