Boost, reread my post man. I said I should have not used the term "against" gay pride parades as that has the connotation of perhaps thinking they should not be allowed. As for not liking them, I care little for whether you think this viewpoint is shitty. I don't like mashed potatoes, but don't dispute the right of others to like mashed potatoes. But does my tolerance for, or the feasibility of my viewpoint towards mash potatoes have to be measured in how much I personally like how they taste? Come on, man.

For sure. We probably do agree more than our propensity for argument shows.

Yeah you're absolutely right. While at its core I think my viewpoint is quite innocuous it can be easy to misconstrue it or, worse, for me to articulate it poorly. I think maybe being from a country where LGBT issues aren't really at the forefront of politics since the major hurdles i.e. gay marriage and so on have all been passed has something to do with my viewpoint being what it is. In the US I can understand why it'd be desirable to have more people want to be actively pushing in the same direction - publicly, I mean.

I guess it's easy to be utilitarian with things you don't personally appreciate.. but I have no issue with a hunter having a hunting dog, or a shepherd having a dog that keeps wolves away and the flock from straying, etc. But having a dog to have a dog is peculiar to me. Even more so the more urban the setting is.

This is what causes someone to briefly black out, come to unable to differentiate between 6p and 6a, then possibly jump in a random taxi with a random group of dudes, before sprinting up the strip and hurriedly packing bags and getting in a second taxi to the airport, only to have said second taxi turn around when one realized the difference between 6p and 6a.
