How do we know Jason died? Sad if true, sounds like he was supposed to get married this month.

My guess is Jasons death has to do with his last post on FTR being 'I'm getting married'. I think a little of us all died that day.

It's even cheaper when you go to the source!

I think I spend under $10 a day on food. Nowadays I tend to eat two meals at home and one or two out. But by "eating out" I mean taco trucks, a slice of pizza, or ordering food at work, which is half price. When I eat at home, I eat a lot of staples, rice, pasta, beans, etc. And I try to cook in ways that stretch the protein (which is generally the most expensive part of the meal), such as stir fries. Also, adding an egg or two to boost protein content is awesome, cuz eggs are nearly free when compared to other sources of protein.
  17. #167
$200 every 2 weeks and some veggies through the week. So about $110 a week. I do eat about 50% of my food as protein though, but like Boost said, eggs are king. I eat 40-60 eggs in two weeks. I buy 4KG chicken and some various beef products. One meal a week is either take out, order in or Restaurant.

I for sure come in at under $5 a day (I plan to spend just under $30 a week on food) but I prolly eat less meat than the average bear. That's more a factor of having no money (or still being in the student mindset of having no money?) but if I was gonna spend more on food tbh I'd probably still buy mostly the same things/quanitity, just more organic stuff.
  20. #170
the wife and i spend about 500 per month on food. i'm a glutton and she eats rabbit food. i just keep telling myself i'm bulking so it's okay. i think i'll be bulking for the next 5 years or so.

I don't understand how $5 a day is possible. I mean, I do, but you you must not like food at all.
  22. #172
    That's also pretty accurate

[QUOTE=jyms;2087777] I eat 40-60 eggs in two weeks.

Is eating too many eggs bad for you?

I always hear/read such different views on this. Not sure which to believe.

Incredibly simply and I'm 99% sure they have an option to open a ROTH IRA account as opposed to something else. Let me know if you need any other help.
hey kingest of nats (or anyone else for that matter) so I finally opened a roth ira (through ing direct) and put in the max contribution for 2011 since i didn't want to miss another year.... now what the hell do i do? i have 5k sitting in my account and i assume i have to invest in something now?

Short answer, no. Cholesterol in food does not effect the LDL (bad) cholesterol in your body. It was just another food industry scam to sell more packaged foods with no cholesterol.

Long answer requires another thread. I think FTR has a few fitness/nutrition threads where this may or may not have been answered but I don't want to derail this one more than it already is.

For a Roth, you just keep adding money. Nothing you have to do.
The money managers of the Roth invest your money in various funds for you.

    Joshua Kennon Investing Blog

This is a site/blog from a guy that's megarich from investing in the stock market at a young age. Staunch value investor, he has a lot of really interesting articles and links to other posts of his at about.com. Not all money stuff (although most of it is related to it in one way or another).

I'll read this hardcore for like 2-3 days, forget about it and come back 2+ weeks later and devour the entire site again. His posts never fail to entertain.

I spend close to 800/month. But that includes drinking, trying to cut this down. When I was unemployed this was sub 300.
