Well if that's the case, all three of those teams looked pretty shitty in week 1. Saints and Vikings had sparks of talent but overall couldn't get anything going in match. Cowboys were the same way. I think the packers make a better case than either of them so far. However, it's just week 1. When the patriots are 16-0 we can talk about how awesome Tom Brady is.

honestly, week 1 is so overrated. granted, it counts the same in the standings as any other week, but in recent years i've found that week 1 is the least indicative of any week regarding how well teams are going to be prepared and perform throughout the season.

i'd prefer to face a very good team in week 1. it's probably the best chance for an upset.

Don't forget giving up less than 50 (might even be 30?) yards rushing through two games.

We're not elite but we could be and we probably have one of the best rosters going forward for the next 5 years.

Just a stud free safety away from being in the upper echelon of teams

Yeah, and until that happens, we can rock this old-school Trent Green -Chiefs style. Just score more than your opponent. EVERY GAME. Who needs a defense? lol

The Chiefs, yes THE CHIEFS, are 2-0 and leading the division. Both wins have been U-G-L-Y, for sure, but being able to say we're 2-0 is definitely awesome if not very weird. San Francisco coming to town on Sunday--a 3-0 start is definitely possible.

Matt Cassel has looked BAD so far, and I think our defense isn't as strong as it's appeared (shut down San Diego in sloppy conditions and took care of a bad Browns team led by a back-up QB)...I don't know how long they can keep this facade going, but it'll be fun while it lasts. This city has waited a while to have a team to root for...

Man if I was on that SF defense I would be so pissed. The rest of the team gave that damn game away.

They in essence gave up 1.5 half drives the entire game vs. the Saints, which is no small feat. Yeesh.

    3 turnovers inside the opponent's 30? Ridiculous.

typical chad ochocinco fine for harmless end zone celebration or using twitter too close to game time, perhaps $25,000.

brandon jacobs fine for chucking his helmet into visiting crowd, $10,000.

    that makes sense.

another week, another creative way for the browns to lose
  43. #193
LEON MOTHERFUCKING WASHINGTON!!! He almost had THREE KO's returned for TD's except he tripped himself up on one with open field ahead of him.

Earl Thomas with a couple picks too. This team is playing with an intensity and aggressiveness I haven't seen in a long time.

The offense is still struggling as expected, but Pete Carroll has this team playing hard.

    I'm fucking excited!!!!!

Yes, I was kidding you. The offense lost that game, ldo. Defense did about as well as I'd expect in a division game, but 2 second half turnovers will obviously make things tough.

3-1 with Cushing out. I would have been happy with 2-2, even losing to the Colts.

    This is WAAAAAY better!

LOL -- Chiefs are the last undefeated team in the NFL! I wonder if Vegas had any sort of odds on that, and what those odds were. Crazy stuff.

Great chance that there will be no undefeated teams after next week--Chiefs at Colts this Sunday, with the Colts coming off a loss.

We could have still won that game more often than not against the Ravens, which just shows how well put together our team is this year. Even our weakness of recent years - the O line - has found themselves powering the good 'ole Steelers run game.

I'm pretty excited about the Hawks picking up Lynch too. He's a douchebag and our O-Line still sucks, but everything I've seen says he's a gamer who will get it done on the field.

just wanted to say that nothing drives me crazier in the NFL than the 20-yard-net pooch punt when you start inside the opponents' 40. should be four-down territory 100% of the time.

or your punter, who has nothing else to practice, should be able to kick the ball inside the 10 at least 80% of the time.

I'll admit that I don't see many 49ers games, and he has looked good at times in this game, but Alex Smith is just terrible. If he were a rookie you could be optimistic; it's shocking to realize this is his sixth year in the league.

Barring QB and head coach, I think the current 49ers are probably as good as two of their Super Bowl teams.

Has some secksy weapons too with Gore (this performance withstanding) Davis and Crabtree
  69. #219
fer sho. Crabtree ain't Rice but he'd be a 90-catch guy with Montana, and Ginn is good enough to be an Alvin Harper type. nothing wrong with the defense that playing with a lead occasionally wouldn't fix.

not that his final line looked that bad, but smith must have made 4-5 brain-dead plays, the kind you get away with once every three games if you're Tony Romo.

They're probably going to be done with Alex Smith in the next 2 years lol.

Yeah, but he's the best QB on your roster. What're you going to do, go do David Carr? As a Texans fan, I can assure you that would be SOOOO much worse.

Chiefs looked really good today, they are for real. Their next step is learning how to put teams away, they definitely should have done that against the Texans....oh well, gg Mr. Lee.
