Pittsburgh probably wins the series, but I am cheering for Tampa.
    Game sevenaments...I so smrt

5 for 6 so far on predicting who was going to win each series. Slightly off on the number of games though

My prediction is Crosby suprise-plays tonight. His brain has slightly calcified from that which hasn't killed him, making him stronger - nigh unconcusable. He'll do what only commercial Ovechkin could, the hat trick of hat tricks.

I can't handle this, both teams kinda suck tonight, so many turnovers doesn't help

Very nice Montreal! Super lame goal celebration on the biggest goal of his life though, why do black people always have to act so cool?

Sorry, that last comment probably belongs in the "Side effect of banning poker" thread.

    Damn that sucks.

My favorite part of the game was watching Seabass rage in the Boston GM box. Would have been sweet to see him explode if Montreal scored in OT.

    Dear Montreal fans,

I am sorry for calling you both French and Canadian. That is adding insult to injury after a devastating loss. I truly am sorry and will not insult you by calling you French or Canadian for the next month.

i think we'd have an easier time with washington than we did against buffalo. not guaranteeing we'd beat them or anything because obviously we very easily could've lost to buffalo.

then again, you might consider me an optimistic homer who thought that a couple of those goalie performances were outliers (i'm HOPING leighton will never see the ice again [wtf was he doing in there in the first place?!] and boucher is unlikely to have AS bad of a game as he had in game 5 again). obviously goalie is our biggest weakness, but we weren't all dr jekyll and mr hyde through the length of the season as we were in that series.
  30. #105
Pronger and Carter are back; Miller stole 1.5 games in that series.

If they go with Boucher he'll be perfectly serviceable.

as weird as it sounds, i think this game actually highlights what i said. obviously, our biggest weakness is goalie, and if we're gonna lose, it's gonna be because of our goalie situation (CAPT OBVIOUS!), but none of the goals in that game were the cupcake, silverplatter, barely even throw the puck near the goal type goals that we were giving up in buffalo (obviously a few ugly looking jugglers and one leaky type goal, but none of the outlier stuff we saw in buffalo). boston straight up beat us that game. they owned the attack zone, every pass they made stuck right on the tape, a few clears we made luckboxed right onto a bruin stick, we made no highlight reel saves, we give up 7 goals.

gg boston, hopefully we look much much better next game (and boston doesn't do EVERYTHING on offense perfectly). oh and tim thomas looks way more human than ryan miller.

the broadcasters are saying his name so much, it's just starting to sound like a nonsensical series of syllables (like when you say eleven 100 times in a row you forget what it means). this would normally annoy me, but good god is it justified tonight

well over 30 shots between the third period and overtime, and a big turnover in our own zone loses it. sigh

so ridiculous how every contending team has at least a decent, credible #1 goaltender (who's the worst among those remaining in the playoffs, other than philly? Jimmy Howard? and he's no slouch)

philly has three that would all be #2 or at best #1b on virtually any team

say what you want about how holmgren assembled an elite group of forwards w/ solid defense in a relatively short period of time, but is it really even forgiveable how shitty his team's goaltending situation is?

Stevey Y picked up Roloson early on for just about nothing, result: TB up 2-0 against WASH

Philly rides into the post season with a no-name bum goaltender (bobrovsky - who wouldn't have anywhere near the same stats on a team that actually needed goaltending to win i.e. the canadiens) and a few washed up career back-ups.

    So sad.

HUGE win for the 'nucks tonight!
It would have been soul crushing to lose two games in a row by giving up a late game-tying goal and losing in overtime.

Vancouver hasn't made it past the second round since 1994, so if they beat Nashville there could definitely be some riots!

I love the Boston/Philly series because I can take huge pleasure in watching either team lose - I just have to forget that there's a winner sigh.

This round is just so brutal though - gg caps, gg boudreau gnight it was fun watching you on 24/7 but you're done, vans/preds is the worst style matchup possible (canucks are awesome to watch but preds are the only team that can stymie them). I guess I'll have to put my faith in the sharks. Go wellwood!!!
    Family Cruise IMO

anyone else disappointed that the second round is so damn one-sided? every series is fucking over, 3-0 or 4-0, except Nash/Van which has me rooting for Nashville to win tonight just to give us some fucking hockey to watch next week. So so sad, fucking capitals and flyers, epic collapse.

    Agreed.

How do so many series go seven games in round one and then only four in round two?
Detroit swept round one and are now getting swept
Washington almost swept round one and got swept in round two...

    does not compute

    ITS>...... JUST...... HOCKEY ?!? ?!?!?!?!?

haha fwiw I think the Bruins will probably power through tampa bay in the eastern finals (5-6 games), then likely play Vancouver for the cup... Which they will probably win in 6 games.

    There I said it.

And Canadiens fans will never, ever hear the end of it.
