Default Kim Jong-un feeds uncle to pack of starving dogs

    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/worl...icle-1.1565299

His dad was a cinephile, 10 bucks says Jong-un really dug Django Unchained and drew inspiration.

It doesn't appear to be a 100% substantiated story, but pretty fucked up if true.

That's what happens when you let capitalism run rampant.

And then this nephew ate those dogs, hope my nephew doesn't do this to me.
If things were to magically revert to January 1st, 2003, only I could take everything I know now in terms of poker ability/knowledge, bonus clearing, etc., I think it's safe to say that it would be trivially easy to make over a million dollars.

Depends on what he means by "partake"... NK is definitely a member state.

Because NK is battle-ready with enough mortars aimed at Seoul to kill millions. There is an understanding that the previous Kim operated under a "launch everything" mentality if his regime was going down. In addition, any sort of destabilization of North Korea would set South Korea back for generations. The costs of reintegrating North Korea would probably be trillions, and nobody wants to foot the bill. Also China likes having the buffer state between it and the US military

Nobody can say what the solution is because the state is so secretive that we don't know the nuances of the power structure, but basically the military rules with an iron fist, and the possibility of reform appears non-existent

I think the solution is to impose harsh economic sanctions on them so their government struggles to function and their people starve. They will be forced to choose between feeding their people and maintaining military capability. If they choose the former, then they become weak enough to topple, and if they choose the latter, it's a propaganda victory for the West and they remain isolated.

I'm not even mad that I got that wrong. That's too funny.

Sure, sure, but China likes having the buffer. Even though they aren't fond of the crazy, they've gotta take what they can get, because a regime change in N. Korea is likely to not go well for China. Once the cult of personality spell is lifted, and wall of isolation is breached, there's not much reason to think the communist ideology of the current regime, the thing which unites the two countries, will have much influence. Also, if shit ever went down, China can count on N. Korea to bring the noise. And so, here we are, harsh economic sanctions from the west, while China, ever aware of what a crazy town it is, trickles just enough assistance to keep up the status quo.
