    Default Greatest Actor/Actress 2000-present

I think it's Leonardo Dicaprio. He gave an incredible performance in the Aviator, and granted Shutter Island/Inception were well written movies but he still made them better! Plus I just watched Body of Lies, which got me thinking about this whole thing.

DiCap could be #3, but the first two spots indisputably go to Daniel Day Lewis and Philip Seymour Hoffman

Leo has really surprised me and turned into a great actor. but yeah, hard to go against DDL. When your average performance is Oscar worthy, that's a great actor.

Actress -- Charlize Theron, Hilary Swank.

I really like all three of the actors listed so far. I'd also add Bale to the list.

I agree with the actors listed so far and I'd like to add Edward Norton and Jeff Bridges to the list.

Hard to go against natalie portman for the ladies side.

    Not always, but I don't think that's a problem

Just take a look at Capote, Happiness, and Charlie Wilson's War and you'll see that the only person better than him is DDL, and DDL is basically the greatest actor humanity could ever produce. In fact, I don't think he's an actor, but some kinda crazy mutant who just morphs himself into the character they tell him to be

Fun fact: DDL was initially wanted to play Aragorn, but declined because he thought it would take too long. Now how fucking aaaaawesome would Day Lewis rollin Aragorn have been?

I have not seen "Black Swan" yet so my opinion should probably be disregarded...I still mentally dock Portman for the "Star Wars" performances. She's great and gorgeous though.

This title should have been Angelina Jolie's to lose but she was more interested in adopting the world and being a celeb.

greatest actor/actress is Morlag the man/woman of planet X33

to be sorta constructive, dicaprio is my favourite actor. DDL and PSH are good actors but their movies bore the shit out of me and a pretentious rubbish

my favourite actor is edward norton. hands down.

Edward Norton has done some great films and he would be in my top 3. I really liked Daniel Day Lewis in 'There Will be Blood' and I know he's been in lots of other movies I just can't think of any.

Johnny Depp and Leo both draw me in completely to whatever story they are trying to tell. I have a healthy appreciation for the skill that that requires.

funny how George Clooney probably would've been mentioned 3+ year ago and now I wouldn't even put him in the top five over the last decade.

"Gangs of New York," which is a forgotten great movie for both Leo and DDL. DDL plays a character sorta (oddly) similar to the "There Will Be Blood" guy.

"Last of the Mohicans" of course, which your girlfriend/wife will appreciate (every chick gets wet watching that movie)

"In the Name of the Father" -- great fucking movie

DDL's best is unquestionably My Left Foot

I honestly don't care much for his movies or his characters, but that doesn't change my acknowledgement of his talent. I'd far prefer to watch Leo since he makes very enjoyable movies, but he's still no DDL

i agree with DC...edward norton is the man.

I'm not that big of a DDL fan, still feel there are a lot of great actors out there... for action roles there is a lot of sway towards Matt Damon, for sheer acting talent though, I'm not sure I can agree with Leo... I think he is pretty simplified... Edward Norton is pretty good... pretty torn on the whole thing.
  33. #33
Yeah Leo and Russel in my top 3. Not sure who the other would be.

A Beautiful Mind is prob my fav movie ever.

John Malkovich is a high brow guy whose movies are actually good, and pops up randomly in non lead roles (awesome).

Jeff Goldblum gets honourable mention for being awesome, see his topless laying down greek god pose in jurassic park.
