Gets no views for some reason. I could watch ISS footage all day.

If you're not into recording it wont be for you, but this guy is an absolute beast when it comes to work ethic.

I've been subscribed to this guy pretty much since youtube came out. He was vlogging before that was a word.

Used to watch potholer54. Checked out his response to Crowder's global warming myths. In a lot of ways they're talking about different things.

All links are to videos tab on YouTube page, rather than home page. This is just due to my preferred habits when YouTube browsing.

CGP Grey covers loads of topics, only releases videos rarely, and every one of them is amazing.

Cody'sLab is a backyard chemist / scientist / miner / metallurgist / apiarist. If you're a fan of scientific methods and process, this guy shows that a bit of sense and a DIY attitude can get you everywhere.

CrashCourse covers a bunch of topics to moderate depth. Prob check the Playlists tab on a completed series for a first look.

    DeepSkyVideos if you space.

Kurzgezagt - In a Nutshell is another page that doesn't post videos very often, but when it does, it's amazing.

Mark Rober is an ex-NASA engineer who does fun stuff like show you a DIY video on how to turn a leaf blower into a snowball machine gun.

Numberphile for math nerds. You nerds.

Objectivity 'cause Keith is a dapper gentleman and old stuff is interesting.

Periodic Videos for chemistry nerds. You nerds.

Physics Girl is hit or miss, to be fair, but some really good stuff in there. Plus, cute hawai'ian women are rockin'.

SciShow for daily shorts with science news content.

SciShow Space is same, but more space themed, so not daily.

Sixty Symbols used to be great. The deep catalog is really good, but they've lost their direction.

SmarterEveryDay for that southern gentleman scientist dad guy fix.

TheBackyardScientist is a guy who throws bullets into molten aluminum in his backyard in a Florida suburb among other things.

The Slow Mo Guys do slow motion videos.

Veritasium is another kind of random science dig channel.

Vsauce is similar, but more broad and unpredictable in topic - bit like Kurzgezagt.

Whenever I start watching youtube I end up 3 hours later on a completely unrelated topic and with several more links I still want to follow.
How do you stop getting distracted by interesting asides?

    Depends.

Sometimes my work ethic. If I've clicked to the point where I'm off of non-fiction science, then it's time to get back to work.

    Sometimes guilt that I'm procrastinating.

Sometimes by realizing that my options are "pass out in chair" or "go to bed".

Isaac Arthur... why am I only just finding this channel?

It's lengthy videos on cool topics, like maybe a dozen takes on the Fermi Paradox and various proposed explanations thereof.
Topics tend to be fringe science / border on science fiction, but he takes them seriously and tries to explain why they aren't science fact... yet.
e.g. space elevators, and their various cousins, Dyson spheres and swarms, and how to drive a star around the universe

Check out 12 tone. It does deconstructions of various songs. I'd call it fringe music theory.

Oh yeah, that one's great too. Fringe is the right word. Would only recommend to people who already know basic music theory.

Bass is the 2nd best instrument there is.
I love those cover channels. My ears aren't great and it's so much easier to learn songs watching those guys.

    some more drums and bass:
