A bankroll isn't for rent. A bankroll doesn't go to pay the bills. A bankroll doesn't pay for the corvette you backed into. A bankroll doesn't pay for new duds and shit.

"A good player understands that the winnings he collects at the poker table are operating capital. This capital is not to be used for anything other than playing poker. The bankroll is the lifeline of a poker player. Without it, it is impossible to make a profit. If you win enough money at a certain limit, you either pocket the winnings or use it to step yourself up to higher limits."

How would you have paid for the fees if you didn't play poker? I'm sure you would've come up with a way. Grant it, I doubt you're playing poker for a living. Regardless though, that is horrible BR management.

It is not horrible bankroll management BECAUSE he is not playing for a living.

Poker is a game. Paying bills is life. We've all had a point where we had to pay electricity instead of buying a new playstation game. This is the exact same thing.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

I understand this very well. I've been in the same boat myself, but I knew better than to go looking for sympathy.

So you're playing poker because you wanted to make some easy money and to pay some bills. Well, congratulations, you have just completely destroyed your income potential, and you will be paying for less bills from poker now!

And you wonder why you get banned from IRC so often

I knew miffed when we were growing up. He was always an asshole, but I just pretended that I liked him. After a while he started doing stupid things like spend all his BR on uni fees; this is when I stopped being his friend and realise what an idiot he is.

My life is worse because he is alive.

    you all so mean

Doggz. Im 22 and have a whole life ahead of me. Twice now i have moved through the limits from 10NL to 100NL, 200NL at times and paid off a large amount of debt that would have taken up a fair portion of any earnings i would/will make over the next 10 years or so. Yes, its horrible br management and will over the short term kill my potential earnings. But i have to consider the fact both that i may never be good enough to play real high tsakes poker and therefore my poker earnings as such will always be limited to a certain max amount and the other idea that i may end up earning a hellofalot more from a job than poker.
Needless, i respect the fact that you believe i should be building as big a roll as possible, i just beleive that all good things will come to those who work for it. Now my br is totally for one purpose, poker. I have no need to touch it. Those fees would have leaked money for a while, making the 5.5k a shrewd investment now, despite it killing my potential income now.

That sucks man. I feel ya. I'm down to $2500 now after winning 5K and playing games I suck at. Now I don't feel so bad. Yaaaaah!
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

Yeah it's not that bad. At least you got to spend your money. I deposited $200 2 months ago and ran it up to $500 at 50nl, then I moved up to 100nl and brought my bankroll up to $2000 within a week of depositing. Over the next 2 weeks I went from 100nl with a $2000 bankroll to 600nl on a $24,000 bankroll, only to lose all but $2000 at 100/200 and 50/100 on party...

I dont know man... the jokes are kinda mean now, but they are jokes. Soupie always used to say "if you cant take a good ribbing, how are you going to deal with the emotional swings of poker?" ... I really dont think there are very many malicious posts on this forum. We just have a twisted sense of humor.

I cry myself to sleep when people aren't nice to me. I wish everyone would just get along, be blonde, have blue eyes and I'm not too keen on Jews either.....

Its a simple choice, and poker is just a game to you right? If it is your way of paying the bills then you dont take a large ammount out to pay for something you want, ie. a uni fee... that would be like spending your savings and quitting your job to get that new car you want. DOESNT WORK.

This is however quite different, a choice of which is of more value to you. Uni vs the chance to play poker at a certain level. Your choice is fine, just as would be the choice to skip uni and play poker in my eyes. Either way works, its not going to leave you in financial difficulty. And you can easily redevelop a sizeable bankroll.

I recently chose to cash out to aid in the purchase of an electric piano. Music is how i pay my bills so this is a necessary purchase. But it means i'm in the same boat as you, drop the stakes, and rebuild. I started poker because its fun. If you did that also then this shouldnt phase you. Its still fun, you just happen to get money aswell.

So get back out there and own those 20NL fish.
    villain goes AI
i call with a set (i have him owned)
    i win pot
villain: **** this, this site is bullshit, ******* rigged, suck out ****
