Question Can you recommend a cognac?

I'm looking to purchase a gift for one of my coworkers, and she likes cognac.

    I don't drink cognac.

I can obviously look up reviews of cognacs, but if you have a personal recommendation, then I'd put more weight on that than an anonymous internet review.

I'm not really concerned about price. I should spend enough that it's not below her standards, so at least $30 seems reasonable. I guess over ~$100 and I'd be hesitant because at that point it's making more of a statement than, "Thank you for being such a nice person to work with."

    Any suggestions?

I could look up reviews of cognac, and pretend I know what I'm talking about, but I'll resist.

For $30 you get mostly cooking grade cognac. If I were you I'd probably get some Remy Martin 1738 or Camus Borderies VSOP, they should be around $50-60.
Our brains have just one scale, and we resize our experiences to fit.
