Funny, I just cashed in tons of Amex gold card points. So baller.

i use the costco amex which gives me 3% back on all gas/dining/travel and some others stuff, and of course 3 % back at costco where i spend way too much money. other than that just the points i get with a chase rewards debit card. not sure the exact % i get back from that.

credit card rakeback is the nuts though.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

Im curious if anyone has something they really like. I get nice rewards from Discover but I haven't tried to use them yet so I'm not sure if I'm that limited (doesnt seem like it though).

Gives me 5% rakeback on Grocery Stores, Travel, or Gas several months out of the year.

We had a Costco AmEx card a few years ago, we liked that because we'd get $600 to $700 free cash money every year (we put EVERYTHING on it). That was cool.

We switched, though, to the Southwest Airlines Visa about a year ago. We crunched some numbers and figured out we'd get about 3.5 flights per year by having their card.....Depending on where we travel, that could be anywhere from $500-$1200 in money for flights we'd take anyway.

P.S. We did run into the fact that AmEx cards aren't accepted everywhere....that was kind of annoying sometimes.

I have Chase Freedom, ranked at/near the top of any list I've seen. The rules are weird, so hard to put a number but it's a little over 1% generally with 5% rotating categories and something else.

Discover hardly taken anywhere around me any more... seems to be fading away quietly

They offer 5% cash back up to $75 ($1,500 spent) for using your card at stores in categories that change every quarter.

For example, this quarter they'll be giving 5% back at home improvement stores while next quarter they'll be giving 5% back on gas, hotels, and airlines.

They offer 1% cash back on all other purchases.

I use a citibank card that gives 1% cashback on all purchases. They send me a nice check in January, no BS with points expiring or having to save a gazillion before you can buy some crap you don't need anyway.

edit- there's also no yearly fee on this card. Not sure how the interest rate compares, I pay mine off monthly so it's not an issue for me.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
